Re: Which coolant & how much do I need

I've never had any issues using tap water with concentrate, but using a bit of deteregent sounds like a good idea. These days I use the ready mixed stuff as its easier. Re: [Mk2] [NA] HELP! Car wont start..

You should be reading about 13v+ when the engine is running and the alternator is charging the battery, if it isn't there could be a problem with it (check wiring, belts etc before shelling out on a new alternator.)

Re: Which coolant & how much do I need

From what i know we should be using the Red, why i dont really know but i do know you shouldnt mix colours. I did once in another car and wondered why it went all brownish! I asked the local Mr.T and they said that mixing the green and red coolant shouldn't be an issue. I suppose mixing the two to ...

Re: AW11 crash test pic

Possibly not as Euro NCAP wasn't about in the mid 80's, they might have crash tested elsewhere though. Would be interesting to see if the lack of the lump up front makes for a better 'crumple zone'!!

Re: [Mk1] [Generic] Please help a US Yank- Drive an Auris w2.2D diesel, or have you?

I hear that Rolls-Royce Trent make great engine conversions for a MK1 [tongue] Been trying to get a Trent 900 from work, no joy yet though!! The main problem would be drivehsafts, gearbox linkage (front to rear) and piping for the radiator. With the other mk1.5/V6 modders out there they ha...

Re: how many different engines?

so does a twin charger not count? The twincharger is still based on the 4A-G(Z)E block as far as I know, although they have mentioned the other 4A-GE variants From looking elswhere on the forum, I would imagine the twincharger option is probably more expensive motor by far!! Even beating the trijet...

Re: for next JAE

for next year we should aslo consider hiring a counsellor from tea drinkers anonymous to help us cope with our serious addictions from this year! don't feel comfortable without a cup in my hand now. Tea is gooooood, a large tea urn will be needed for next year, but those things need electricity to ...
