Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] leaky charge cooler core...how to repair?
IMHO you will cut into the air-core if you cut the face highlighted. Looks like the water is contained top and bottom according to your picture. there are three segments on the top face, two on the bottom, so my guess is water flows from the water inlet pipe, to the bottom face, to the middle of the...

Re: block connectors
Yes! The Idle Control Valve is on the underside of the throttle, and needs to be working for a smooth idle. The TPS throttle position sensor also needs to be fully working and correctly adjusted if it has be moved/removed/replaced, as there is a switch contained in this that tells the ECU that the t...

Weight loss Tip of the Day for SW20 Turbo
Not sure if this has been pointed out before, but I have just weighed a Rev 1 NA starter motor from a 3SGE- it is 0.9Kg lighter than its Tubby counterpart.
Direct replacement wrt bolts and terminals, and should work OK.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 3 Head on a Rev 2
rev2 rev3 spark leads are to the best of my knowledge the same - they are dizzy-cap dependent it was the rev1 that tended to have a push-on rather than clip-on lead-to-cap interface. Dizzy unit itself is exactly the same as rev2. Inlet manifold may have different support stays, have not checked this...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 3 Head on a Rev 2
I am doing the same as you with the rev2 block rev3 head. The cam-belt cover different, so too is the metal backing plate behind it. Alternator bracket is different AFAIK but should not be a problem as you do not need to change this. Word of advice on the Manifold- mine was 1.5mm out of plane, ie ve...

Re: Ultimate 3SGTE ECU Datalogger
Very interested REV 2 GTE and REV 3 GTE - PC based or PALM. Palm would be good for those against driving with laptop - cheap as chips on ebay, easy to view while driving, download data to Home PC when you get home. Keep up the good work. PS You appear to have a 3sGT ECU but If you want another 1990 ...

weight of 3sGTE engine?
anyone know how much the 3sGTE engine weighs?
- obviously I would need to know what level of assembly the quoted weight refers to
- ie with or without accessories
(turbo, manifolds alternator, gearbox)

Many thanks.

Re: Charge cooler pump flow rate...
Jay, (and later Jonno) I'm fitting a bosch pump as per your post - I'm suprised by the quoted flow rate though - seems high for such a small pump. I must test mine, but I have 2 and was contemplating running the pair in parrallel if required. I'm not convinced with the theory that you can flow too m...

Now £50! for Anglesey trackday this Friday (30th jun)
I have been offered a spare place for Anglesey this friday with MG's on Track, but am not available - thought I'd see if anyone was interested here. I have done a trackday in my tubby with these guys and they are a freindly bunch. PM me with your details and I will put you in touch with the owner of...

Re: Turbo Conversion shopping list
My (bad-ebay-experienced) Scream is to sell NA and buy turbo or pay someone £2.5k to do the full conversion or buy a good, tested/ full running damaged donor Tubby. I bought a cheap low milage rev2 3s gte package off ebay to convert my 130k mile NA with 'kerbed' & cracked gearbox. Paid a garage ...

While on the subject,

Anyone know where I can buy a classic MR2 look-a-likey glue-on kit for my 2005 Mustang?

I think a fake 355's owner photoshoped this together to take the heat away.

Re: 9am till 4pm for £40 at North Weald Airfield - 8th Sept
I have been asked by the MGs-on-Track organisers to see if there is any interest in a joint day
(at North Weald) for MG's and MR2's.

I guess there could be enough interest to be IMOC only but IMO far better to sell out quickly rather than worry about an under-subscribed event?

Mr Darcy
