Car Limits Activity Day

A chance to have a play in your cars in a safe environment, increase your driving ability and have a laugh and all at a good price.

The day is a taster of what is done on a Car Limits training day, with tuition from Andrew Walsh but with more fun and more people, so less cost. Have a go at the high speed bend, circuits in the afternoon and the slalom course which will be open all day.

FURTHER DETAILS:

The day is held at North Weald. The airfield is located off Junction 7 of the M11. Follow the signs for North Weald Market and this will take you straight to the airfield. There will be only 1 gate open on the day, next to the Air Traffic Control Tower. The person on the gate will direct you to where you need to be. For those of you with Sat Nav etc, the address is:

The day will commence at 9am and finish at 4pm.

Be in comfortable clothes. Wear sensible shoes to drive in.

Officially spectators are not allowed. However, if you want/need to bring a partner along, that’ll be fine. Please remember though that there are no specific facilities for them to sit and watch.

Bring your driving license along.

Bring some money along for lunch and for drinks at the local afterwards.

Oh – and bring a car!

No crash helmets are required.
No additional charge for partners & wives.

ITINERARY:

09.00am
Your meeting point will be at the Airfield. There will be only 1 gate open on the day, next to the Air Traffic Control Tower. The person on the gate will direct you to where you will need to be. You will need to bring your licence with you on the day. You will then be given a safety briefing by your instructor.

9.30am - 4.00pm
A large group day with a number of tests for the car including
High speed bend.
A blast down the staight.
Slalom.
Small circuit.
manovering section.
braking section.

Lunch will be staggered between 12.00 and 2.00


AM - High speed Bend training
PM - Circuit courses to put into practice the training (around cones) - nothing to hit !

Ok ive got to say that this day is definatly worth the £40! I had a lot of fun. Also I wrecked my rear tyres from deliberately spinning on the high speed bend and generally hooning around having fun! If you do want to go mad ive got a phone number of a local mobile tyre fitter who can come to the airfield at the end of the day and fit tyres either supplied by him or ones you bring along with you. If you bring your own tyres he will charge £5 per wheel to fit/balance tyre.

Well the instructor times your run with a stopwatch. Its not wildly accurate but its all fun.

I need to choose a date - they then require the full payment from me 1 month before our chosen day.

I have been asked by the MGs-on-Track organisers to see if there is any interest in a joint day (at North Weald) for MG's and MR2's.

I guess there could be enough interest to be IMOC only but IMO far better to sell out quickly rather than worry about an under-subscribed event?
