Re: Horrific Clutch Judder
Thanks for your reply, when I replaced the clutch the flywheel definitely looked okay, as in it didn't look like the one in your first photo but I think I will bear this in mind, but before taking the whole car apart again, I'd like to eliminate any other issues that anyone may think could be causin...

Re: Horrific Clutch Judder
I trust you had your flywheel surface ground when fitting the clutch? Engine mount/s loose? I didn't, is this necessary? as when I had a fellow MR2 owner round to help me do the job the first time we didn't do this then either, also I was following this as a guide to replacing the clutch http://www...

Horrific Clutch Judder
Hey folks got a bit of a weird problem, a couple of months ago I fitted a new Exedy clutch in my MR2 and all seemed to be going fine (aside from some other unrelated issues that I won't go into). However while driving to Japfest on Saturday the car was running beautifully on the motorway and then on...

Re: Ignition problems please help (URGENT)
You're right in the feed to the starter relay comes from the starter motor. You'll see a little ring wire that you clamp with the main power lead to the starter. Have you earthed the engine ??!... get a negative strap off the engine / starter attachment bolt to the chassis of the car ! This is usua...

Ignition problems please help (URGENT)
can some one please help me with this? basically I have had an auto electrician out to the car who told me that it was the alarm that was stopping the charge getting to the starter solenoid, so I got an alarm specialist out who checked everything and told me its not the alarm that's stopping the sig...

Re: Engine not starting help please!!
ok i did a little google search on this and found you may have a MASSIVE headache ahead. The Rev4 was fitted with a Key transponder for security without this you will never get the engine started as its linked to the ECU. So the key, transponder and ECU is needed for the engine you fitted. If you c...

Re: Engine not starting help please!!
theres a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder. Make sure the fluid is topped up in the frunk, get someone to push the clutch, open the nipple, if fluid comes out it probably doesnt need doing, if air comes out wait till noises stop and close nipple, release pedal, push pedal, open nipple, wait, close...

Re: Engine not starting help please!!
Was your REV2 a UK model or import? was the REV4 engine UK or Import If miss matched then you may need to do a bit of re pinning on the passenger side loom. Unless you changed the passenger side loom as well. I take it you have connected the life to the starter motor? The plug goes to the gearbox s...

Re: Engine not starting help please!!
have you definitely got the slave cylinder located correctly on the tab that it pushes against. if its just pushing against air you wont feel a resistance. If it is then try bleeding it. I believe its located correctly, but will double check this, also could you tell me how I go about bleeding the ...

Engine not starting help please!!
Okay so I've recently taken my MR2 from a Rev 2 engine to a Rev 4 engine after cracking a piston ring or two on the Rev 2, I've got the engine in the car and pretty much got it fully installed except for a couple of things and I was wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction. first prob...

Ah so theres nowhere I can order it from online? as I have no way of getting to the nearest Toyota dealership to pick some up, and would be so much easier if I could get it delivered.

just wondering if there is a
"best" coolant to have for an NA MR2?

or is the Halfords own stuff good enough

and also how much coolant do I need because I've noticed that its sold mixed and concentrated.

TIA.

Oil pressure switch
When I bought my new engine I was told it needed a new oil pressure switch as one did not come with it, now I know these aren't expensive as I've just found one on Fensport for £15, my question is where does it go? I've had a good look around but can't see where it goes, so if someone can describe w...
