Are you sure the pump that you fitted is good?

This sounds like similar symptoms I've had with a failing standard pump.

I've also had similar problems with a dodgy MAP sensor, although not on an mr2.

Do you want to sell the alloy one?

What problems did it cause?

Probably worth either balancing or replacing (with a lighter one) the crank pulley while you're at it.

I might have remembered incorrectly, it looks like he only changed the hubs, thus allowing him to use the stronger mk2 turbo drive shafts.

Has anyone looked at using mk2 strut tops?

What did Neil do on his sprint car with the mk2 suspension conversion?

Sorry about the slow response, not been on for a while. Another vote for the ford Idis coil pack here. I've been running one alongside an Omex 600 on a full n/a build for a good few years now. No problems at all.

You can also use the Escort / Sierra / YB cosworth crank sensor.

Awesome (in both appearance and performance by all accounts!).

What wheels and tyres?

Gains will be very small if you stay mild. Maybe spend the money elsewhere, gear ratios for example, either 6speed, final drive or smaller wheels & tyres.

How did toyota reduce the CR on the GZE motor?

I'm sure the head is identical so I'm guessing shorter pistons. In which case the valve cut outs may not be an issue as the piston stops short at TDC.
