Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] please help... oil leak

Just to update this. The problem was with the base plate. The threads were ruined. Swapped it for a different plate and no more leaks so I'm happy again.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] please help... oil leak

Thanks Bob. Have ordered the whole thing from the mounting plate up for a decent price which will hopefully sort it. Any tips on putting the relief valve back in? It didnt feel cross threaded when tightening.

[Mk2] [Turbo] please help... oil leak

I have a rev 2 turbo that went in to have a decat fitted. To remove the old cat the oil filter was removed along with the relief valve. On putting it back together oil started pouring from the stock oil cooler. The valve was correctly torqued so new gaskets were ordered for the cooler. This still ha...

Has that engine just been rattle canned in situ?! Looks like the leads and everything have a bit of silver to them!

Re: is boost gauge right or is something wrong?

You sure your measuring in psi and not bar? If its showing 5 psi I would say there is something wrong as it should make more boost than that.

Thanks for the reply raptor. The codes have been cleared using the diagnostic tool. I'll just have to see if it does it again I guess.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Which induction/filter?

I generally like pipercross induction kits, they sound good if an open cone. Depends what you want nose wise. If you want it loud you don't want a standard airbox or enclosed filter with cold feed. My first NA had a HKS superpowerflow with the HKS hardpipe. It was the best sounding kit I've heard on...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Help please, advise on 2 fault codes

Just to add... Error 47 seems to be for a secondary TPS. Can anyone elaborate?

Also, thinking about it, this started since I changed the exhaust for a japspeed. It is possible that its just a boost spike now its flowing more frelly and hitting fuel cut? Ta

[Mk2] [Turbo] Help please, advise on 2 fault codes

Hi all. Since having my turbo it has twice misbehaved. Basically it has only happened low revs, 5th gear, approx 45 - 50 mph. Foot to the floor, boost starts to build then car jolts, throws the ecu fault symbol on the dash and then wont make any boost again until turned off and on. It has only done ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] induction kit question...

Ok thanks guys. I'll keep an eye out for a standard airbox as it didnt come with the car. Don't think the venom kit will fit with the cold air feed attached so its a bit pointless fitting it anyway.

How old is battery? 2 hours playing music would take a fair bit of juice out of it. Does it start ok now?

[Mk2] [Turbo] induction kit question...

Hello all. Not had an mr2 for a while now but recently got myself a very tidy rev2 turbo. It came with a massive blitz induction kit fitted which sounds very nice although very loud. Has anyone fitted a closed or sealed induction filter to the turbo? I have a new pipercross venom kit which would fit...

Don't post much but recently sold my mr2. Had a garage clear out today and have some spare t-bar glass if anyone wants to pick it up from Gloucester.

Re: Hello all - considering an 'upgrade' from a Eunos roadster to a cheaper Mk2

Hello. I have owned a mk1 mx5. It was certainly fun but as you say gutless. The 4 pot also lacked any character at all, even with an exhaust and hks induction it still sounded like a beefed up lawnmower. Having owned a few n/a's, 2 turbos and a v6 I can say I prefer the mr2 over the mx5. The n/a wit...

If its sound you want mate do it! I have just got myself a v6 and it really is awesome to listen to. Not listened to any music while driving since getting it. Performance wise its more than enough for me to use on the road. It just pulls in each and every gear from right down the low end of the rev ...

Hey yodi. Yes mate I am loving it. I'll pm ya. Rob your right if you want real power the only way to go is turbo but for me 200 or so horses is enough. I just love the sound a v6 makes and it feels just as fast as my old rev2 turbo. yodi, prob best to sell my old one and get a turbo if your stayin w...
