Bloody cars.

.

.

Just got it back from MOT which it passed, electrics now work.

.

.dodgy relay.

My SSQV turned up the other day

(I had one a few years back.

.and this new one is different.

.

.it sits at an angle.

.and has no adjustable bolt on the back for the pistons) so I fitted it, took about 10 minutes.

Set off, car seemed fine.

.slight hiccup/misfire once or twice in 3rd then it was ok.

Gave it some boost on dual carriageway, and it was perfect.

.

.nice and quick) although the wastegate chatter I had seems to have gone, now the SSQV just flutters alot

(used to run the standard recirc to atmos).

So I start driving home, give it some throttle again, all of 3rd to about 7k revs and a bit of 4th.

.fine.

Pull up at the lights and although it wasn't spluttering, or idling roughly.

.it sounded like a subaru.

.

.so I set off, still sounding like a subaru

(misfire?) and then it clears as I go into second.

.

.then with throttle again, same thing when any fair ammount of boost is reached.

Then I limp home with it doing a few more hiccups.

So.

.

.

.

I get home, take the shopping in

(although most of it was mush in the boot).

.reset the ECU with the old fuse trick.

.notice the avc-r was on A setting

(1.2 bar) not B

(1.6) not driven much on A really.

.

.take it out again and idling was fine, up hill in 3rd with not much boost was fine, infact all conditions seemed fine.

On the way home, I took it up to 1.54bar and it went like a train, smooth as anything.

.then idled fine etc.

No smoke at any point or anything.

.

.so what's that all about then? ECU learning the SSQV? AVC-R A setting xxxxx up?.
