Rev3 centre rear panel "MR2" badge removal?

Post by Peter C »

My rear centre panel is scratched and I need to do something about it. How do I go about removing the silver MR2 badge? Is this just stuck on? If removed, I assume it won't just stick back on again.

hey mate...ive just removed mine...with dental floss :D get a good length between your fingers (no comments lol!) then just run it behind the badge using the floss to cut the adhesive off (kind of like you are sawing the badge off)

If you are careful you could possibly reapply the badges afterwards but would need more adhesive. I just used a bit of thinners to clean the panel up, and hey presto, debadged! :D (10 min job)

fishing line does the same thing aswell, also heating badge up with hairdryer and wedging a credit card behind gets it off without scratching paint or doing damage . :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.

Fill a sink with very hot water and leave the panel to soak for 5 mins then you can carefully peel it off. Paint your panel then apply a little bit of contact adhesive to the back of the badge (which should still be quite sticky) then reapply.

I have just done this myself i used a heat gun to warm them up and simply peel off, then i used clear double sided tape to stick it back on, easy.
