So driving reasonably sensibly at motorway speeds and on A Roads how many miles should it do to a tank assuming I fill her to the throat when I am leaving.

Thanks

One issue with the car is that the fuel hand is stuck
(dials recently replaced with lockwood dials) so I won't be able to tell how much fuel I have left.

But then again I do alot of cold starts combined with short trips to work in town

All in 1st gear? You should get better than that, surely?
On a long haul at 70mph, I got 37mpg from my rev3, which was about 320 miles from the tank.Normally get about 30mpg, which is 60% motorway driving at 70mph.
I'd have thought at least 250 miles from a full tank at a steady cruise on a rev2.

My overall journey is about 400miles so I will look for a petrol station around 200-220 miles and that should see me home.

My car stinks of unburnt fuel but seems to run fine.Oh Im running a VTA DV as well which might cause it a little.
Might get a timing light and check the timing, could off timing cause bad mpg?
