Been lazy (well, too busy) about booking stuff (working out what I can afford). Maybe just as well, looking at this ferry stuff! Will book ferry when I'm back in England in a week and a bit... (Hopefully by then it'll be more clear who to book with)

Likewise with the bolt on trip - would love to do it, but given some recent events I've wiped out next years holiday money I'd saved, so will need to have a good think about it... :( (Though i will book flexi tickets anyway to allow me to join if I can, or head back if I can't...)

Sorry I've not been able to do anything to help out with this guys...

At the moment, I gotta work out what else we need...? Parking... I'll need to get more energy so I can think again!

Just spoke to Spedferries, not good at all.

They find out Thursday if they have a buyer for the company, if not thats it. I was told today if they don't find a buyer I WILL lose my money, there was nothing else she could tell me except the staff won't get paid either, not that I give a hoot about that, what about my hard earned £67 that it looks like I'm going to lose, I'm well fooked of now!

I'm going to go to my bank, Lloyds TSB on Monday to see if they can reverse the transaction and get my money back.

Lesson learned today, don't be too organised [-( #-o [-(

And I've just remembered that paying for stuff on a credit card only covers you over £100, so we've all lost out here. :(

Sasha works in Lloyds TSB, (apparently the TSB bit is important) and that's news to her, so it may be worth confirming that. All credit card purchases should be covered by the provider, so it's worth asking.
Also, if you have any kind of travel insurance, that will definitely cover this, so make a claim. (Including annual insurance)

BTW: This is Max - I've commandeered Sasha's computer for a bit... :)

Guys im really sorry to see the speed ferry thing.

bad news on travel Insurance.

You can check your Policies if you have them but i am fairly sure that you will find that if a company goes into receivership/Administration then its not covered with most Insurance companies.

Even if it were you will have an excess maybe £50 so think insurance may be no go.

Hope it works out for you all

Shane.

Yea Shanes got a good point there, lets just hope a buyer steps in on Thursday and saves the day. If not I'm off to Woodsport to get Paul to convert the worlds 1st amphibious MK1

Just checked norfolk lines are doing dover/dunkirk same dates for £62 8am out 6pm back

If people would like for the people on the base trip tuesday-monday post up names and numbers (if the organisers are happy with this) I can phone up the ferry companies and see wether we can get a group booking and see if they will do it on coorporate rate through my company too. :thumleft:

bit of a result :thumleft:

P&O no deal you pay the web price.

Norfolk lines 20% discount making it £47 for those with speedferries tickets. if we can get 10 cars together for a crossing then £47 £4 cc booking fee for all

Sea france £52.60 each

hope this helps people but good news about the norfolk lines for those with speed ferries bookings :thumleft:

you have to produce the tickets/email confirmation that you had from speedferries when booking Fax email scan etc then take them with you on the actual crossing as they may check on the crossing.

give them a call 0844 847 5042 the price of £47 was as of last night and will get more exspensive actually the P&O price had gone up by £10 when i asked last night.

Happy to go with Norfolk Line, although the 8.00 sailing going does make it a long day, we would be happy with 6.00 sailing   , what do others think?!!!

Cor, that's a bit of a bu88er. I've might have 2 cars, Chris has fixed his MX5 following its massive head failure and is now talking about coming with us again!

Michael, could you do me a favour please?

Can you edit / update the first post in the thread with all the relevant info? We're at 13 pages of chat already and we're not even in the same year as the race yet. For people thinking of joining in now (like Chris) that's a lot of text to wade through to find dates, times, places etc. I know I found it a bit time consuming to find some of the info I was after the other day - apologies if you've already thought of this or have already updated it on the website!

Yea good idea, I'll sort it John, I'd like to move away from this forum a bit and start using the official Le Mans website, we have our own forum that isn't been used. I've probably spent 50 hours building the website and nobody seems to look at it anymore, remember its OUR website, not mine, anything you want me to add can and will be.

With reference to Speedferries I'm not doing anything till Thursday, possibly next week until I know for sure what the hell's going on with them.

Anyone on here NOT going to our Le Mans party on the 6th December, if you really want to go I'm sure we can get you booked in!!
