Heat, not Horse power is what will make your brakes feel inadequate.As long as you keep them within operating temps you'll not have any problems.

but if your building a 400bhp car having pads that wear down faster should not be a big issue, when it comes to cost and maintaining your car,

mm I should have written that better.Drilled discs are very prone to cracking, how much of an improvement they provide is also debatable
(sp).
