I've owned a rev1 na and rev4, and the former felt quicker, and would pull to an indicated 140mph. The rev 4 could only manage an indicated 128mph. Obviosly too many variables to compare them scientifically, but I think the T bar option can add weight , and the later 'lean burn' rev4 + engine alterations blunted the performance Am I right in thinking bhp went from 158-173-168 from rev1 to rev 5?

Yeh. Rev 4 UK N/A model had a book topspeed of 137mph, so I assume you had issues with yours. I do believe the lower revisions of N/A model had more torque, but torque doesn't equal more topspeed.

I confirmed this cos, after fitting the new wheels on one side, the car was leaning over quite dramatically.

For example 225/50/15 is almost the same RR as 245/35/17...

I bet you could get them sort of speeds by looking at the speedo.

I think I could hit 180 on my speedo in my Rev3 Turbo but with it over reading it wont be near that.

I've had my Rev2 NA up to a GPS indicated 137mph @ 6800 rpm speedo was reading 143mph, it just didn't have enough power to push itself through the air any quicker.

My n/a did GPS verified 140mph downhill (private test track), but the speedo was showing 150mph, and it had no rpm left.....will go slightly over GPS 130mph on flat, probably more if the run way hadn't run out. Gets to 125 fine, then struggles.

despite having read much about 130-140 max about N/A's, i have personally reached 156 ish (250 km/h) in brussels->antwerpen road

you guys need a place where you can try your car out without being afraid of cops, i also thought it would go 220 and not further (mine is a 91 n/a btw, no mods by that time, all stock)

has any of you TESTED your n/a to full and seen that it does NOT go past 155 mph? Mine was doing fine i just got scared :pale: of the age and speed

I managed an indicated 120 (GPS) at 7krpm in 4th on my private test track the other day. I can't see that 5th would give me another 30 mph :-k

With those exact wheels/tyres on my tubby, I can confirm too that my speedo was accurate to within 1mph GPS -vs- speedo from 30 to 150mph.

225/50-15, sidewall 4.4in, radius 11.9in diameter 23.9in circumference 75.0in, revs/mile 845

225/45-17, sidewall 4.0in, radius 12.5in, diameter 25.0in, circumference 78.5in revs/mil 808.

If the 225's were worn down, then it would look very much like getting on towards 2" diameter difference...

The rev1 NA is by far the fastest NA model, i hav a rev2 which i loved, but it had no speed at all, crashd tht unfortunatly 2 boxing days ago and bought a 200sx which was crazy fast, actually scared me. Someone i know bought a imported NA rev 1 a few months after and he was behind me on a str8 so i thought id embaress him, floored it and 2 my surprise he was keeping up, slowly falling behind but it wasnt embaressing what so ever, i hit 125/130 before slowing down because i didnt want a full blown race round corners etc. My NA had enough trouble breaking over the 100mph barrier. Are the Rev1s much faster on paper?

p.s he got his for £800 on ebay!

Also my 200sx kept up with an L reg impreza turbo up a hill, tho i think this may have been a weight issue.

200sx 2litre turbo is 197bhp and a 1994 impreza uk spec will be 212bhp but 4wd so similar performance.

The Rev1na is the slowest of the NA's actually...

your's sounds like it was *very* ill.

hey this thread is really interesting but also quite contradictory lol

is the rev1 the quickest to 60  and the rev3 upwards better top speed?

thats what ive heard lol its the lightened rev1 and more torquey engine...

or is this completely wrong!
