7/8 will require more pedal travel to move the same amount of brake fluid as a 15/16.

Just done some quick sums, and if it takes .5" on your current MC to work the brakes to a set level, on a 15/16 it would take 0.42", so its about 18% difference. That may not feel like much, but when its piston travel, and not pedal travel, it might feel quite a lot different.

On the other side to this, it could give you a more progressive pedal, which personally I prefer.

Your call.

good good.

Just sourcing the parts at the moment.

How much do you think is reasonable for just the calipers and sliders?!

No idea I'm affraid. They can vary massively. You might get some that are in need of a refirb, or you could get some that have just been refirbed. I'm sure there will be some flaoting round the for sale section or ebay.

watching a few sets on ebay but they include discs and pads. But id rather stick new discs and pads in.

Been offered a set of calipers and sliders for £180 + postage

Bit pricey if you ask me. But I've never really shopped round for them.

I would think 100-120 tops for calipers and sliders. Especially if they're used.

Sounds good. Cos postage could be a bit. Mind you, parcel2go would only be £13odd, so still a pretty good price.

Fingers crossed for ya bud.

so if i read up correctly about the MC, i can install the full rev3 conversion and leave the old rev1 MC on till i find a good price rev3 one, whithout braking issues?

you wont have braking issues no, but you will have to work the pedal harder to get the same braking force than if you fitted a rev2+ MC

not!

It is the ABS which gives the power of braking not the MC

The MC do not control the force of braking but it is the ABS which automatically controls the force of braking of each wheel. The pressure is controlled i.e. that it decreases again when the point of blocking is close…

I have make the upgrade Rev1 brakes - > Rev2++ on my turbo and I did not change the MC.
