Bobby mate. There is no need to sware and get angry with people.. A couple of weeks ago some silly little moose in a people carrier backed into my car at a very busy junction..

She looked like she was going to pull out of the way of the traffic so we could chat she pulled over (i know it was a woman because she had long blonde hair) I got out of my car and she F'in drove off.. I was so confounded i could only remember the last 3 digits of her number plate.

 now my car has a nice white patch on the front bumper and lower lip.. :pale: I went home and went mental but i did it in the privacy of my garage..

there appears to be no physical damage to the bumper it just needs a respray.. but thats still money i shouldn't have to be spending out.

So think yourself lucky at least she stopped..

Taking donations for the stilly moose backed into my bumper appeal..

i agree with above, if a bloke was agressive to me, regardless of if it was my fault or not then i would be making a phone call to a mate, prefferibly male to come and keep me company, because i would feel threatened on my own, ive had 3 accidents, none of which were my fault but ive never shouted.. theres just no point.
glad that she paid up though so you can get it sorted soon as, nothing like looking at your pride and joy all bruised up :(

Sorry Luize but she wasnt alone babes. Dont get me wrong, Im not some gorilla like thug. Im one of the most passive guys you'll meet but the two things that WILL set me off is someone harming my girlfriend and someone harming my car.

Again, Im being really honest with you all when isay I can't for one minute see/understand the pov you hold above. One one hand you say that these people cant drive and that they would indeed be a danger to a child whilst another not only got hit but then got completely humiliated and taken the mickey out of after having his car hit. This just backs up my reaction further. Sorry, but giving a girl OR guy (not to be sexist) or verbal beating when they mess up whilst responsible for moving over a ton of metal on th queems highway is completelyjustiofied. These days people dont realise the damaging potential power they weald when they get behind the wheel of a car and if I have give a few people a wake up call, then I think thats a good thing.

Taking things to extreme, playing the whole 'back to the Future' thing here, who knows, iinadvertantly I could have saved a kids life for all you know. How do we not know that by me scaring her a bit and her now paying a not more nmore attention a kid hasnt come a cropper who well might have ????? makes you wonder :-k

Oh, to the above point, she might well have driven off had it not been for the fact we were in traffic.

Or taking it to the other extreme, how do we not know that your actions could have caused a childs death by you scaring her so shitless that she lost concentration on the way home.
Extreme "but what if" yes but no more extreme than yours and just as pointless.
The fact remains that speaking to a lady like that is never, ever justified.
Its the people that can see that that makes them stand out from the thugs.

Again, I apologise if it upsets people to hear it but I do feel that anyone who damages someone elses property through incompetance is deserving of a verbal bashing. Sorry but I'm sure others would have not lost it, but controllably verbally bashed someone had the same happened to their car. I know for a fact that that it has been mentioned in other threads already. I distinctly remember something similar happening when a lady pushed a shopping shopping trolley straight into the back of another member's Mr2 replying that its a bumper, that's what its there for.

Its the 'get away with it' attitude which is only contributing to the falling driving standards in the UK. I agree that te extremes of speculation could inded be takento eithr direction but simple fact is you should be observant on the road and she was not, posing a danger to people and property in the process. If a copper had seen her pull a stunt like that, do you not think an officer giving her a tellin off could have scared her just as much, amplified by the u iform? The same result would have been accomplished. :-k

With all due respect, I dont think an officer telling her off would have the same impact as a complete stranger banging on her window so hard he thought it might go through whilst screaming obscenities at her.

Oh well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree this time round buddy. What can i say. you ahev a very justifies opinion which i do understand and I ahev another whihc I've also tried to back up. Lets hope then that I never have another situation where I may need to, um, practice my opinion again. I, for one, am getting a bit sick of applying fresh paint to my car all the time.

Darn it, and there was me thinking I'd just sealed this one up.

No mate, of course a copper wouldnt have spoken to her in the same manner. the point I was trying to get across was that she could have left the scene of an accident just as on edge after say, being given a harsh talking to, ticket and possible fine for example. A different kind of anxiety granted but one that in effect is equal.

not gonna keep goin throught his though guys. not ducking out, just that as explained in the last post i made. I can see other opinions of this but 'choose' to go another route under such circumstances. Surely youre not saying that just because a WOMAN is negligent, irresponsible and damaging behind the wheel , we should wrap her up in cotton wool and say "there, there"???????? I think most people with half a brain know that if they go and hit another persons car there's a higher than average chance that person is onna be bloody angry. If they think their gonna geta cup of coffee and a mars bar then I think these people should steer clear of police blood tests if you know what i mean. What makes me laugh is that some woman think they should be let off everything yet theyre the first to beep their horns, stick their fingers up and shout to you to xxxx off. Guess that much be what they call ironic. Dont misread this as sexism, look beyond the bluntness and I'm actually treating things as more equal than some would like.

Come on guys, lets drop the P.C. act here. We all know that if you hit another car , there's afriggin chance of getting verbally booted.????!!!!

What wasnt included in the original post was that I kept it as short and , er, sweet as possible. What you see there is pretty much it. In fact, it was super short because a passenger of hers was carrying a wad of cash and sorted things there and then so it really wasnt the drawn out turture session from hell that some are visioning here.

...............and thats that. I cant explain my feelings on this any clearer. i see every driver on the road as equal. granted, I know a woman does notgenerally have the physical presence of a man but then I wouldnt pick a fight with anyone over a cr accident. verbal venting here only! If a woman, man, disabled driver or oap get behind the wheel of the car we ALL have an equal responsibilty to drive safe, consider others , be observant and generally haev some damn common sense. Anyone veers away from this and they are a danger to people and property. She was LUCKY that she only damaged the latter.

trust when I say I wouldnt fret one bit if I hit someones pride and joy and they felt like call me every abusive name under the sun. If it were my fault, i'd damn well deserve it for being an idiot in the first place..

yours (again)

Bobby

Sorry Bobby, you thought you had this done and dusted!

Not gona comment on your incident becasue all has been said.

But when a women drove into my parked car 6 weeks ago, I had to leg it outside and make sure she ddn't drive off, as she was just about to

My first thought was OMFG!! Someone's just hit my pride and joy  I then paniced and tried to find my flat keys so I could go outside and sort it out. Legged it outside and flagged her down. She asked if she had caused any damage and I thought you cheeky b1tch, you know what you've just done, I heard it from inside my fricken flat! I didn't say that though but did have a very angry face no doubt which is unavoidable, especially when I was about to have to get in my car and peg it after her!! I never showed any physical or verbal aggression though and was actually as pleasant towards her as I could be under the circumstances. After changing details she was incredibly embarrassed and sorry for what she had done as she could see the disappointment in my face, and I made it even harder for her by being nice. I would have thought that has as much or more effect than the direction you chose, but guess it also depends on who did the crime...

When my mum had just learned to drive she bent my grandad's car. She got home, and was expecting a real earwigging, but all he did was walk around and around the car sayin "my God, my God, my God".

Apparently this was worse than the earwigging!

i dont think you can compare damaging your dad's car with damaging a strangerssomehow mate. They are undoubredly gonna be embarraaed where they might not have been otherwise.

I think the moral of this story Bob, is to keep things like this to yourself, coz you'll only ever get a slagging on here.

BTW. I'm with you on this. I'd have reacted in much the same way mate.

=D> Thankyou.

To be fair to IMOC, i wouldn't call any post on this thread a slagging off. I'm acrually impressed that even the negative responses havent been harsh, not even very blunt so well done to all. If ony all threads with strong opinions could be this way.

I have to say though that I can still confidentally say that i think more people on this board would have reacted this way and some are kidding themselves whilst the others are played the 'political correctness' game.

IMO

Must admit if I were the female in question I would have found it intimidating. So it was a mistake, no need for the aggression!!

TBH mate you're lucky she didn't note your number and report you for threatening behaviour and make a lot of trouble for you. Some females would've found a way to make money in that situation.
