I don't think Neil Johnson would agree with that statement whole-heartedly.

he doesnt have a bodykit though does he, to fit silly 18/19" wheels :)

Jonno has 17" IIRC.....

Aftermarket Jap style side skirts and a TRD rear spoiler IIRC - in my book that’s half way to being a bodykit.
17's all round yes. The minimum size he could go to fit those HUGE uprated brakes behind.
So bigger wheels over stock by 2 inches and I'm inclined to believe that that he hasn't 'lost what the MR2 is all about' by ruining the handling.

:P

Really  didnt know he had skirts, :? but anyway we've both been around here long enough to know that 17" is the max if you want to keep any sort of handling. And I still stick by my statement that bodykits (inc/mainly the front bumper) dont do any favours while driving with a spirit down country lanes :)

Let this be a chance to show off your motors!

Post lots of pics of front/ back/ sides, and explain what kit it is!

Thanks!

Mine's 100% custom.

Allegedly, a mould was taken off an original, and the body made from that. I can't verify that, but it looks pretty bloody close. The photo is poor, and shows the car in its worst light. When I get my wheel outers, I shall be out with the camera getting some decent shots.

Just wanted something subtle and not too leery. =P~

Where did you get the skirts from? Just what I've been looking for.

That rear wing is far from subtle! I used to have a love / hate relationship with it. Sometimes I though it looked wrong, but when you see it from the right angle, it just works so well. Something like this:

What a memory!

For what its worth im going to look at a bomex bumper later this week - im not really after it for the style, i just want the extra airflow over the numerous front radiators I seem to have aquired :)

If I was asked in a pub about bodykits I would say I hate them, so why I ended up with my car looking like it does i'll never know!. Needless to say I like it, it still looks like an MR2 and the TRD rear wing really makes them look mean :)

The biggest problem with bodykits is that people tend to hate them or love them, combined with the fact that some bodyshops cant be bothered to fit them properly and what you actually end up with is a bit of a lottery.

Personally I really like the bomex stuff and the TRD rear wing, although pretty in your face is something I loved from the first time I saw one. I still dont get what anyone sees in the veilside kit (sorry!) and the border side skirts look like they should have firemen standing on them!. Which I guess shows that its all a matter of taste.

Hopefully the days ford escorts with ill fitting and badly attached kits are never to be re-lived :)

Have to agree.... Mk3 kit does look very nice 8)

Point taken Patrick/Matt about the MRD spoiler, I really meant the rest of it excluding the spoiler  Spoiler looks the dogs too BTW!

So, do you want my old suspension then? PM me a price and we can talk :D
