Because unless his car has undergone massive surgery on the fronts, those wheels won't fit a MK2.
Plus, the 235 tyres on the rear and the 215s on the front would look mega stretched.
Plus 17x10 rear ET35 would be sticking out past the wheel arch..

That is not what a 215 on a 9J looks like, or what 235 on a 10J looks like.
That is also not how those widths and those offsets would sit on an MR2.
Also, I've never seen a set of those in 17x10J.
Given that they don't actually know the offsets, I would assume that the original stickers are missing.As they are splits, they might not have size stamps as it depends on what barrel they are bolted to.
I bet they are 8J/9J, and they've measured them incorrectly.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing.I've seen 9J on the front of an MR2.
But work is required.
a 17x9 ET35 will not just'fit' a stock MK2.
