Any ideas for names of insurance companies to insure the MR2 with? Currently just lapsed with Admiral. Admiral for last two years, mods are decat, air boz and exhaust. They were fine with that. Now I want to put my Gizzmo electronic boost controller back in but they say they can't do it. Was with Aviva before that. Any ideas for companies with a nationwide well known name, that may insure a boost controller? Look for the independent specialists that are small....often give better modified prices.androo007 wrote:Sky often overpriced these days.
like a fiesta or a 206. the boost controller will make you more likely to crash. not cause your car is faster but cause you're looking at it and trying to set it rather than looking at the road. I declare all mods and these two always come in the almost cheapest for me. I probably try 6 companies a year after reading the threads to see who has lowest premium but to be honest none of them that may be slightly cheaper (£10 -20) offer a better service than these guys when you review all the cover. I'd do an online quote via one of the comparison sites and then use that as a reference for negotiating with them (i.e. tell the call centre they are talking rubbish). I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way.
(really) different levels of help depending on who I was talking to. Sometimes it just takes someone on the phone willing to check it out properly rather than just "boost controller isn't on this list mate". Had to go elsewhere because of that. I'm now with Keithmichaels.co.uk, rear bumper mounted intercooler, and vanilla air freshener.

Prices were always very similar, as was the service over the phone. However, I never needed to make a claim in that time but from what people used to say about Sky, their service wasn't as good with modified cars and claims as Adrian Flux were. Again, not my experience, just what was mentioned on the forums... That's how my policy is worded 
though my renewal has yet to fall through the letter box..
