Hi
After a short ride in the car yesterday to test all was well, I've noticed I'm only seeing 0.4 bar of boost. Turbo is gt3076 with brand new tial 38mm external w'gate. Have opened up the tial today to check the spring and it's blue dot so should be 1 bar.
I'm now questioning my self on some of the vac lines.
One specifically I'm not sure if it should be attached or blocked off.
Location is n/s of the engine bay, under the coolant assembly where the water temp sender is, there is a pipe coming out toward the firewall, it's very short and a b***h to get to.
Would someone be able to tell me if this should be blocks off or attached somewhere. Currently I have a bolt clamped in the end of it.
Thanks

Re: Vac hose location
Not sure its a vac hose now, looks a bit large.
Trying to upload a pic now.

Re: Vac hose location
Sounds like its from your old wastegate actuator from standard turbo to the vsv under the manifold.
Not sure how you go about connecting it up to a gt3076 but what do you have controlling your boost from turbo the now? What hoses do you have connected to your wastegate?
You may have a boost leak also

Re: Vac hose location
Currently just trying to run a spring pressure which should be 1 bar.
Have one vac pipe from the manifold going to the bottom port on the gate, top port has nothing on it.
Boost leak was my thought so went hunting for pipes not attached.

Re: Vac hose location
Is it the standard hot pipe from the turbo to intercooler? What are you using as a pressure source to the wastegate port? (Pressure source being between turbo and throttle body)
Re: Vac hose location
No, not std hot pipe.
Teed into one of the vac lines on the intake manifold for that.

Re: Vac hose location
Yeah i think thats for the old vsv.
In regards to a pressure source for the wastegate. Iirc it needs to come before the throttle body and not after it (inlet manifold) but i could be mistaken.
I took mines from the small port on the standard hotpipe just under the bov. Fitted my boost controller between there and the bottom wastegate port.

Re: Vac hose location
So I assume had this been unblocked when i drove it, I would have struggled to make boost?
I've not tried it since blocking it.
I'll check where I've taken it from later and move it if needed.

Re: Vac hose location
Sorted now.
That should have been bunged and it was open to atmosphere.
Rips now! And holding a steady 0.9 bar.

Boost control should come from the manifold, far better control from there.

Good. Glad you got it fixed

Why is that bob? Just asking as I had mine set up straight from pressure source (turbo outlet before throttle body) as per instructions.
Obviously i now have an ebc which the stepping motor has 3 ports. One is tee'd between bottom wg port and pressure source. One is direct to inlet manifold and the last is to top wg port. Hopefully I have it correct, if not I will never follow any instruction manual again lol
