Just a quick update for anyone thinking of doing this .

New solid base shifter bush from the USA

replaces the soft rubber bushings that support the shifter base firming up the feel of the shifter

I can't see how they will firm up the feel of the shifter, just transfer more noise and vibration from the tunnel to the shifter.

My experience entirely. Not an ounce of difference. Look pretty though.

whats the point in firming up a plate that doesnt move anyway? :lol:

it could be secured by glue for all that it matters, none.

where on earth you get them for a 10er?

im sure there is some small positives to this mod.

on a shift, you will be yanking on the plate, that plate will move around a fraction due to the rubber bush, how much it moves though is anyones guess and if you would notice the difference

Does feel better but then i have changed the cube , shift bush and gear oil but it all helps .

dont knock it unless you've tried it....

like OP said, its an accumulation of changes that make the difference.

Yes I understand your point. But we are talking Standard vs. Performance.

With that thinking, nobody should modify their car at all then? Don't fit polyurethane bushings, better clutch etc....right?
