Anyone familiar with the HKS EVC4?

I've had one fitted to my Rev3 turbo and it has been setup to simply run at a slightly increased boost level which we think is circa 0.9 to 1.0 bar. I don't have an aftermarket boost gauge yet, which is on my shopping list for next month, but I'd appreciate any tips on setting it up when I get one as JimGTS has pestered me to learn how to use it.

Thing is, I'm new to this turbo stuff but not the MK2 having an N/A and a V6 in my fleet, and the gain settings, percent settings confuse the hell out of me. I've watched youtube vids and read installation and setup instructions and still none the wiser!!! ](*,)

Any tips appreciated

Leave it at standard boost till you've got a boost gauge. Best bit of advice

The EVC is a boost gauge :wink:

The early models have "monitor" mode and the later models incorporated a boost gauge into the standard display output.

Yes, but from what I can gather it only reads boost as an offset of what it thinks is stock? So the numbers are meaningless to me!

Three boost outputs on that screen

Max - i.e. Peakhold
Current - Boost/vacuum now
Set - Desired boost level

All the brand name Japanese boost controllers function as a boost gauge too. They have their own pressure which is used to both display and respond to boost levels. :cyclops:

Which is which?

Currently displaying 111 on the right and not not hitting any warning. Whatever that means!??
