has anyone experienced overfueling on boost after fitting a walbro fuel pump? I am getting a lot of black smoke on boost all i can think is the fuel pump is dumping fuel in.

Re: walbro fuel pumps
The ECU will be dumping the fuel, the pump will be allowing the fuel pressure to remain constant, maybe worth checking lambda

or a bad FPR

Re: walbro fuel pumps
The pump can't "dump" more fuel.
Either your FPR is no good or your ECU is overfuelling for some reason.
FPR issues are rare. Check fuel pressure.

Re: walbro fuel pumps
are the regulators removable/replaceable?
I checked today to see if it was leaking fuel past on the regulator and its not, i need to check the fuel pressure though.
I have 2 lambda sensors one is oe and the other isnt and i have swapped both them around and still smokes either way. One looks more rich than the other but i cant believe they are both faulty.
im currently looking for a wideband

Yes. Look on the end of the fuel rail. Thought you worked in a garage?

Fuel should be returning to the tank via the low pressure return line. Check the fuel line is folded over between the hard line at the fuel rail and the hard line at the bulkhead.

I thought the regulator was intergrated into the fuel rail, ive never seen anyone replace one before on these engines

They rarely fail. Thet's why i suggested making sure the return line isn't kinked and to check pressure.

The lambda sensor only controls fuel via the ECU at low engine speeds and does nothing when on boost. The ECU in working open loop then

Re: walbro fuel pumps
on boost its running from the map on the ecu adjusting via the map sensor yes? so im wondering if the ecu is damaged,

Did you check the obvious?
Return line kinked?
Fuel pressure?
MAP sensor voltage under boost?
Highly unlikely ECU is faulty,
