It is all relative to the cover as well, Sky for instance do offer the like for like replacements for modifications. I have found cheaper insurance but it does not offer the like for like.

I am gobsmacked at what some people are paying on their cars though for limited mileage, I paid have been offered it at £270 FC, with 12,000 miles p/a and all modifications declared.
I am going to live forever, or die trying!

I'm paying £560 for 15K miles fully comp 6 years NCB and I'm 27. Thats with flux and the car is standard. I reckon thats alright, certainly cheaper than when I had the Celica.

Am I the only Mk1 daily driver here :?:

That's not okay mate, that's awful!

I was with Flux a few years ago when my 3 points were fairly new and I was paying £400 a year with a non standard car!

I used to do 400 miles a week. Admittedly using the car as a daily driver did take the fun out of using the car, but now i'll be using it for weekends, its ever so exciting! Man, I feel like I'm retired lol

Does how long you've been insured in the past affect quotes?

Till about 4 years ago I didn't run my own car as I didn't need one.

At 34 with 4 years NCB, 8k annual mileage adrian flux quoted me £1400 on a supercharger with pulley, exhaust, suspension and brake mods declared.

Came out a similar price with other companies as well :)

That's with Houghtons

As Michael said everyone's circs. are different

Am preparing a list of mods to send to them

Will be interesting to see if the quote changes :-k

Ooops my £100 quote has gone up to £172 with the list of mods I sent to Houghtons

Still not too bad I suppose & the car will be properly insured

My last renewal was £195 for an SC with misc engine mods, aftermarket alloys and a sports exhaust, capped at 3000 miles. I'm in NI and that's a good price because the market here is very small and imports are hard to get covered. I used to use Houghton's, then they stopped covering NI, same with all the others. I'm 47 and have a million years NCB!

Hmmm... maybe my postcode is the problem.
