That sounds silly cheap. Are they just re-profiled cams?

No. I'm not. I wouldn't use 'Malaysian crap' on my car.

In fact, I wouldn't use anything that is cheap and therefore crap on my car.

It's not a Jasma manifold. It's Jasma type approved.

If you read the number on the manifold you can determine who it was manufactured by. I have got the details but I serioulsy CBA to dig them out for your benefit.

I needed a break from work.

this is from a random website so sure it wont be 100% accurate i'm sure, but should help differentiate....

In Japan they have JASMA, this is the governing body responsible for exhaust systems. The majority of the tuning firms are members and the JASMA plate on the exhaust systems means if conforms to their standards, in terms of noise level, usage, and construction.

NOTE: Why JASMA? The association was formed to keep the Japanese governement from driving tuning companies out of business. By coming together they were able to get governement sactioning for their exhaust products. Meaning during the shaken (Japanese inspection) the car won't be faulted for having an unauthorized part. They also ensure production quality, train/certify exhaust personel, and stop false claims in advertising. Not all exhaust systems are JASMA stamped meaning they are usually circuit systems, however certain circuit systems are JASMA certified.

My Tanabe exhaust on my old TRD had a Jasma plate on it. Doesnt mean it was made by Jasma!

There are two "Jasmas" , one certifies exhaust systems, the other manufactures parts, it's very easy to get confused if you don't know about it, i really don't think there is any need to call someone ignorant over it to be honest Lauren given you didn't know yourself they were two different companies last week. Well it was obviously Alex trying to wind me up after he nearly bought Jasma camshafts. It was irrelevant about the company tbh when I knew my exhaust was simply Jasma certified.

Then Alex decided to labour the point on two different threads and it took for Neil to point out his ignorance. Fair enough I think.

Thank you Paul.

I was unaware about there being two different companies.

That'd mean your as ignorant as I am then Lauren.

Thanks for clearing that up Neil.

Okay, well I don't want to labour this, but I had told Alex already that my exhaust was jasma certified and was indeed made in Japan and not Malaysia.

Alex, the other 'Jasma' is not a different company, it's a certification, like say TUV. I'm sorry but I thought you were already aware of that as I thought I had already mentioned it.

It's effectively tantamount to registering a questionable electrical manufacturer in SE Asia and naming it EU Approved Electrical Co.

It doesn't necessarily mean the product is crap but the branding suggests (to me at least) that it might well be.

Lauren this is all very silly, you're mature enough to know that name calling on a forum is not really on regardless of wether someone is trying to wind you up or not, especially in a position of authority as an Imoc committee member, no?

I think "ignorant" is a very strong name to call someone over a simple double company name meaning, that until last week you were "ignorant" of yourself, you certainly wouldn't say that to someones face now would you? I don't know maybe you would, but i'd expect to be knocked clean on my backside if i did that in everyday conversation.

For what it's worth i'm not trying to wind you up, it just raised an eyebrow when i read that name calling, you have more about you than that.

Well I got pretty much fed up with someone who couldn't seem to understand what I thought was a simple point. It was pretty unnecessary for Alex to have a go at winding me up over something fairly simple (IMO) that he couldn't understand on not one, but two threads.
