Initially it all looks very good.As you said, you don't want a pristine show car as your first car otherwise you will be gutted when you misjudge that gap to park in! lol.

A car that needs a little work is perfect as it will keep your interest and give you something to do/tinker with.![]()
Bear in mind that for a first car it isnt exactly in insurance group 1.It will be pricey to insure and run as a newbie to driving.
You also have to declare aftermarket modifications, eg wheels, random bits painted black, etc.

which will push up premiums massively for new drivers.

Where is the oil leaking from in the engine as you look at it?
I have to laugh at the inspection panel.That's where someone has been kneeling on it to get to the engine bay.
I managed to do this myself doing an emergency repair at 1 in the morning and it looks EXACTLY like that.

And yes the dent in the inspection panel is easy to fix.You just directly replace it, just ask anyone breaking their MR2 or just wait for some to come up for sale

Minor thing, anyway.
Spoiler is easily removed and replaced with another one in the correct colour.I'd change the rubber gasket between spoiler and boot lid when you do though, and give it a good clean underneath.

Nothing wrong with a rev1 in my opinion.They sorted the handling out on rev2+ and fitted bigger brakes.

Car looks like its had a respray.I'd check it out under the boot carpet and frunk under the spare wheel for crash damage, and also to see what colour it was originally.
Also check v5 and do a hpi check
