bloody afm

Post by 4ndee »

Bloody afm. I have had 3 in 7 month. Noticed the cars running lean and is idling odd sometimes and occasionaly cuts out. So I did a code read and nothing. So I checked the atm with multi meter and the air temp circuit is open circuit. So these be removed and fixed?[/list]

Sorry to the guy who's selling the rev 3 conversion but £400 is a fortune

When you couldn't get parts for these cars, a lucrative market for second hand parts evolved and on the web and people sold parts via club forums, I did it myself, but those days are gone.

With forums sometimes you get good quality cheap stuff but sometimes you have to pay top money because everyone, knows the value of stuff,

as said redmr2 is offering you a service & if you cant be bothered finding & identifying all the parts yourself go for it,

just to put things into perspective I got all the stuff for my conversion for £25 ..... ok I have been in the motor trade a long time and this was a breaker I use every week but bargains are there to be had

Including a Rev3 MAP sensor, 4 wire O2 sensor, injectors and ECU? I'm impressed!

Well apart from saving you around £100 for the loom and the ball ache of taking it off and fitting the rev3 one. You just need to run a couple of wires to the ECU. You'll also need to make a plate for the AIT sensor.
I can take a pic of my engine thats had the conversion done using the REV2 enine loom

alternatively look out for a HKS vein pressure convertor - rare to find these now but it allows the removal of the afm.

Alan the more info the better if you could go to the trouble of doing that I would be grateful, I did research it on here but that was 6 months ago & my memory's like a sieve

thanks Ken
