You can do the conversion though without using the REV3 loom and will save you buying a few extra sensors by repininng the REV2 loom.

Injectors
MAP sensor
AIT sensor
ECU

If you use the REV3 loom then you will need a few more parts than list above

not if you repin the REV2 loom.

You will find that the alterator and the oxygen sensor will have different conectors on the REV3 loom. 4 wire oxygen sensor compared to 1 wire and oval plug instead of round for alterator

you will also have to make up a plate for the AIT sensor to fit into the inlet where cold start injector is

Yes it's the Rev 1/2 loom.

I spliced the wires at the ecu. I just poked the wires into the ecu ports and connected where needed to test. Made good later. You can solder or use crimps.

Rev to be happy?

Post by toyokid »

I have an AP Engineering Apexi power fc specifically for a rev 2
this will run with an AFM
but.....if you fit an inlet air temp sensor and map sensor (about £30 and £70)
it will run without an AFM
These are a pretty rare beast and give you options?

ECU is in the for sale section.

Hello,
I did a swap in my mr2 engine using the friend a rev2 3sgte walking very well before he removed his MR2.
after that I was doing a converssion ais a rev2 rev3
I reconnected all the hoses, wire, etc., in short, I think I have done everything correctly and change the ecu, map sensor, injector .................... ...................
When I start the car, it turns off after 5 seconds, or if I suddenly gives gas.
By logic it would be a problem of gas or electric.
This can be the fuel pump?
or spinning problem, but everything is connected and looks fine.
Do you have any suggestion, or did it happen to someone.

Thank you in advance for your help
