After returning home i noticed a rather loud rattling noise.

Im guessing conrod or camshaft damage? That's my guess.

Any help would be greatly apprceiated.

Import rev 2 3sge.

Many thanks

Also what engines would you recommened to be a straight fit? Other than 3sge? Or would that be the best bet?
Cheers

Still trying to work out the problem. However oil was quite low could this fine it down to where the problem lies.
Heard this from another forum about noise rattling.

"There is a design fault with the rev1/2 engine where the same thing can happen with low oil.
Due to the design of the sump, if the oil level is too low and you go round a corner enthusiastically, then the oil will drain away from the big end bearings resulting in cooking them"
Possibility? Thanks

That is not a design fault. You have to keep the right amount of oil in the sump of any engine or it will be damaged
Take the sump off and check the main and big end bearings
