Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Cheers - wheels will be getting a refurb, and I'm on the lookout for a cheap Rev5 spoiler - thinking black blade and silver sides?
I would love a V6, even a 3VZ. Maybe when the 3S has had enough I'll do it....
out of all the standard spoilers ever put on the mr the rev 5 defo had the best.
what you getting done to them apart from a refurb? new paint scheme or anything.
and your idea for the spoiler would be nice or a carbon blade
finally sold your car jon?
thanks for everyone's input to this thread.
i have decided to keep the rev 4 and spend some money on it including the turbo conversion.
i dont have the time or patience to do this myself so if anyone can recommend somebody that would be cool
thanks all
firstly try out your local garages and find out if any of them are good at doing engine conversions and costs involved...
or you can go to the likes of rogue motorsport who are an mr2 specialist and are extremely good. they do a supply and fit on the turbo lump

If its not your main car, I would even do it yourself, if you are mechanically minded. Do your research, make sure your have EVERYTHING you need, and its doable in a weekend - if its not your main car, you have the time to spread it out over a few weeks. Would be a lot cheaper if cost is a concern!
bigchief10uk wrote:the gunmetal grey is really nice and maybe do like a polished lip
Polished lips are too much to look after IMO, also, I got these advans super cheap from ebay - look fine from a distance, but get up close and the lips have taken a hammering - I dont know if they will be polishable after they have been repaired?
that is true... if you are mechanically minded it isnt too difficult and can be done. if you have a couple mates aswell who know what they are doing you can have it complete over a weekend
it is my main car but i dont need a car for my day to day stuff so i could do it myself however space is a bit tight chez moi as is time.
also i have a habit of breaking stuff and giving up when it comes to mechanical stuff.
oh they look great in your pic aswell..
well with the colour of your car you could do like an electric blue on the lip that would be different and gunmetal spokes
lmao in that case mate dont do it yourself. if you break something then its more time hunting waiting and more money.. also if you put it into somewhere to be done then you know it will be done propperly and in a time scale

Well, if you have a habit of giving up then deffo dont do it, they car will be in bits! :

That might look cool. Im thinking of resale as well though - if I see some RPF01's for the right price, the Advans are gone!
ye if you are concerned about resale then just do something subtle mate.. and ye they are nice... i have a set of sparco ultra light racing wheels... 245/40/17 front and 265/40/17 rears... they do need a refurb tho...

problem i can see with those conversions is well, woodsport is miles from me .....
Are you for real?? We are taking the same country aren't we? I mean like, it's not even in Scotland or a boat trip to Ireland!!
Drive your car up, leave it there for six weeks, then return and blat back home!
You want quality work done or give it to some dude to 'learn' on?
lmao i do agree dont just give it to some random guy... what i would say though is give it to rogue motorsport they are incredible, bearing in mind they are mr2 specialists lol..
they will probs do the best job on it.
me to woodsport twice
6 trains
2 taxis
5 hours each way
most if not all of europe is quicker, easier and cheaper for me than durham so yes i am for real......but thanks for the facepalm.....have a waggly finger
Hmm, I see your waggly finger.
I up you one nagging wife wants to move back to UK.
Only good point I can see is that woodsport or other mentioned 2 specialist can do roaring work to car. Live in sydney now.
Sunshine vs shyte hot car conversion...
