Hi,
I did mine last week, RHS only mind.

First thing make sure youve drained all of the gearbox oil first.

I used a hammer and cold chisel to drift out the side shaft- one good hit square on and the side shaft moved out by about an inch, I then pulled it out by hand.

My side shaft circlip was intact so was re-used, the oil seal was quite hard to get out with the fear of scratching the housing where it lives so be very careful here I used a blunt metal drift on the inside of the old seal and used a mallet to gently prise

/ leaver the seal out

try the drift at 180 degrees around the seal and work it out.

Fitting the new oil seal was straight forward, first the seal was well lubricated

I then used the old seal as a guide on top of the new one and with a mallet tapped it in so it went in square, lubricated the side shaft and then gently pushed it through the new seal and on to the start of the gearbox splines.

Got a block of wood that fits the area on the side shaft and gave it a few hits with the mallet until it went home.

Seal was about
