[Mk2] [Turbo] Strut Brace

Post by Poker Face »

Would there be any great benefit in fitting front and/or rear strut brace to a mk 2?
The car handles well just wondered if it could be improved.

In all honesty, if driving on public roads only, any difference will not be noticable.

I second that, fitted Cusco front & back over winter, took it out yesterday & can't really tell. Maybe a little bit better, if you can get them cheap then worth it I guess. Look good on the car :D ...

Agree, normal roads. No difference to stock.

I noticed a difference when fitting a front brace, which was a surprise as there's (a flimsy) one as stock, might be all in the mind though :-k

As I'm no Nigel Mansell maybe I will wait til I get a couple of track days under my belt.
At least that way I will notice the difference .

Thank you for all of your replies.

It'll make more of a difference to a t-bar I'd suspect. Mine felt like it had better turn in after upgrading to the 3 point TRD front.

I had a long drive out to the coast and back yesterday, 120 miles, think it has made a little difference, certainly seems to go around the corners well...

Nothing negative being said so will consider buying some. I looked at some on Google shopping and came up with these.

I would value your opinions on them, is it buy cheap buy twice or good value?

Or should I just go with Cusco?

For about the same price you can get second hand Cusco set, put an add in the wanted section, think Mike (almostaverage) had some going...

Riot we rev 1 drivers can upgrade our ARBs quite cheaply, just buy a set from a rev 3+ ... they're slightly thicker on the later cars.

I run front/rear cusco strut braces & full ultra racing under braces.whiteline arbs & apex(BC) coilovers but if you really want to notice a difference fit the ultra racing inner wing braces when I fitted them to mine It transformed the vehicle :thumleft:

I did indeed... an improvement no doubt, minimal cost. Got mine with new bushes from TCB.
