A few years ago I was getting about 10 km per litre and reserve light came on and took about 40 ltrs to fill up.

.

suggesting 550 km/340 miles to run the tank dry although I would not run it that low.

Over the last year it has been doing better than that with about 10-11 km per litre suggesting upto 380 miles to run the tank dry.

I think these figures are pretty much the economy figure in the owner manual

- not bad for a car that is now 16 yrs old and high mileage.

I found the economy does vary with super unleaded fuel supplier with a difference of about 60 km for the reserve light to come on.

On the other hand, how accurate is the tacho and fuel gauge?
If I do 50 miles on a route, my mates 52 plate beemer on exactly the same route only clocks up 45 miles.

I am on stock wheels too.

I guess 10% doesnt make much difference until you go passed a speed camera or average speed check.
