Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Uprated gear box, Drag boxes

C-one do/did an uprated gearset, a mate has just picked one up used from japan. it looks like shorter ratios 1-4 and standard 5th. this particular one is for his celica, but arent the gears/cogs etc the same?? i'm assuming the actual gears are the same??

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] DP question and not the usual one :P

if you already have an expensive rev1/2 downpipe, you dont need to replace it, they do fit fine, theres just 1 bolt which isnt present on the rev1/2

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ebay gasket kits

well the cursed car is doing strange things again, can hear a leak from around the intake mani, close to the dizzy somewhere, easystart isnt helping find it, but strangly if i spray it onto the air filter the revs rise slightly, but if i spray in into the dump valve trumpet the car almost stalls????...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ebay gasket kits

i'v been trying this with 'easystart', no luck yet as it seems to be round the back where i just cant reach very far down ](*,) although spraying it into the dump valve trumpet caused the revs to rise then bogg, so i need to change that too

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ebay gasket kits

I used a cometic for the hg by the way!! well i'm gonna have to try get the intake mani...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ebay gasket kits

ah. . . thanks for the bad news lol. the exhaust mani gasket was replaced with the original one and is holding up fine, so i guess i'll be getting toyota inlet ones, woulda thought that the inlet side would have been ok, quick question, does my diagnosis sound feasable??? cant tell from driving the ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] ebay gasket kits

has anyone had problems with the ebay engine gasket kits?? I used one for the other gaskets involved in changing the headgasket (used a mls headgasket) and the exhaust gasket failed after a couple miles. i was using a rev1 head(7 bolt) on a rev2 mani(9 bolt) and it failed right where the two extra b...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] no dump valve!!!!!

sorry i meant with the valve out of the intake system, so i could get to the piston. ( if you disconnect the afm then it doesnt bog and die on idle or while revving with a massive boost/vac leak, mine ran ok with the whole intercooler in the garage lol) i still had the vac line connected to the valv...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] no dump valve!!!!!

still no success getting it to work, tonight i unplugged the afm so it wouldnt care if i pulled the bov off. while revving the engine the piston in the bov got harder to move by hand and on lift off it got alot easier to push open. now is the vacuum suposed to pull the valve open or does the boost p...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] no dump valve!!!!!

no 1 way valves, just blue vac line, the other line i tried was clear. one of the valves i tried was an ancient hks sqv, dont know if it worked, the mr2 valve was working when it was removed. i have taked my blitz one apart twice, cleaned the insides out and oiled it up, piston moves freely enough. ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] no dump valve!!!!!

I have a carlos sainz chargecooler and a t-piece between the turbo and the cc, my normal vac source is off the aircon idle up line(which i believe is the standard location for a mr2) it has a good boost supply to it the vac is nice and strong the only things that i can think of i have tried: checked...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stainless Steel Head Gasket needed for under 400HP ???

I dont know how much a garage would charge, but if your confident with some spanners just get a mate or two to help, its not 'that' bad to do. I did mine myself and I'm a plum, although my cars a celica so everything in the engine bay is a bit easier to reach, but dont think its that much different....
