Re: Yellow Rev3 Spa Francorchamps

I was going round with a mate following in his M3 CS. In the wet we were taking it easy - 11s to 13s depending how wet. Did actually have a little spin at one of the slow ones :pale: but there's bu88er all grip in the wet ! Luckily it was V slow just too much power & nobody noticed!! It dried ou...

Re: carbotech users

forget the redstuffs - go for yellowstuffs - they are proper track pads - redstuff are rubbish by comparison.
Full set ~£110
Carbotechs are the best but at a price, yellowstuff 95% as good.

No they are absolutely fine - don't notice a lot of difference road or track. Certainly work fine from cold.

Re: MPG on Mk 2 turbo - is it really this bad!?

completely depends how you drive it.
Last time out I did a whole tank in 80 miles  (but that was at Donington :) )
On the motorway get close to 300 miles to a tank.
Mixed driving is obviously somewhere in between.

Re: [FINALIZED] Rev 3 GT turbo SMG tintop - road/track car

Just put 12 months MOT on it - new steering rack gaitor was all that was required.
It's got to be worth at least the asking in parts alone.
Shame to start stripping it.

Re: 4 17in wheels and tyres in a mk2

It's easy
One in the frunk
One behind passenger seat, on cubby box
2 on passenger seat, standing up
You can even fit another behind drivers seat so that makes 5.

Re: Exclusive MR2 Track Day Weekender - 17/18 Oct

Seriously come on! I really don’t understand why people feel the need to try and rubbish and event someone is organising. I have been in a similar position as the IMOC organisers in the past trying to get events like this off the ground, and there are always those who will moan about what it costs,...

Re: Exclusive MR2 Track Day Weekender - 17/18 Oct

Some good points but I don't agree with all of your assessments. Silverstone South - fast & flowing - underated - you can get some cheap days there. Bedford GT - generally steer clear of 'airfields' but this one was great fun, hoontastic & nothing to hit with a nice long straight for good me...

Re: Exclusive MR2 Track Day Weekender - 17/18 Oct

Yes there is some risk - but this could be overcome - deposits maybe. Probably noone would want to organise it. Plus this is a club for discontinued old bangers now, by definition a declining market  & everyone's skint :-$ But if the sunday BAT day at Anglessy is full of MR2s then there mu...

Re: Exclusive MR2 Track Day Weekender - 17/18 Oct

£195 is top money in October for Anglesey - that's Donnington/Oulton money. They may have spent some money on the place but it's still in the middle of nowhere & it's not one of the 'premier' venues (imo). If we want to run club track days why doesn't someone organise it - it would be a damn sig...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspension Set Up

Cool, just watch the spring rates, some of the jap stuff are ridiculously hard & a real pain on the road (virtually undriveable at speed on a B road).
I've gone from std turbo suspension (too soft on track) to Tein HAs (far too hard on road) to Tein superstreets (just about perfect).

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspension Set Up

My 2p, I've tried a few different settings. I think you can get too hung up on the ultimate settings - make it handle nice & predictably, not on a knife edge, esp if you still drive on the road. After all what does it matter if you're a tenth slower on a track day. Camber - tyres like 888s like ...

Rev 3 GT turbo SMG tintop - road/track car

Nov '93 early rev 3 turbo - advantage of early rev 3 is no ABS - lighter & better for track driving. GT model so half leather, steering fogs etc. factory LSD, climate control. Many mods: 17" multispoke staggered alloys, 215/235 Uniroyal Rainsports, plenty tread. Tein flex coilovers - fairly...
