Darren & Nigel at AIB Insurance have given me a good service, I now have a modified MR2 Turbo, mk1 MR2 & MGB GT insured with them. They listen to what you need the sort the policy to suit, I would recommend giving them a try.

Thanks for the advise, not sure which direction I'm going with yet I don't think I will blend them but I feel these cars are always a working progress so who knows where it will end up
I've got a set of the ebay arches being delivered this week, I thought at the price i would take the gamble but once I get them I will offer them up and report back.
There is a slight bulge to them but I wanted to get a bit more girth on the back but I'm not in a position to buy new rims at the moment, I guess I'm happy with the look and it helps fill the arches even though its going to be putting my speedo out slightly.
I'm running 245/40/17 on a 7.5 rim and everything performs very well, no problems with back end grip or unstable handling. I did check with the local tyre company before I did it and only went for budget tyres incase it didn't work out.

The car is now back together and running but I have no engine warning light, the bulb is ok...
I've just had mine stripped down as I have just done a rev3 ecu conversion and have made a cover to go over the alternator to try and protect it but look forward to hearing if you find any answers/solutions.
I have to say I have the same problem and its driving me crazy, I've changed the rocker cover gasket twice but can never work out where the oil is coming from
