Re: Worth repairing? No quote given for labour, estimate?

Can't really help with an estimate but let me know if you want to sell.

I haven't had an MR2 in years and am looking at the moment for a project to get stuck into.

Thanks Ben

Re: Rev 5 N/A engine into Rev 2 N/A help

I beleive there are differences in cam profile aswell so you may want to fit Rev 3 cams as the ECU will have the wrong map for REv 5 cams. This will then give you the full rev 3 power, 170+bhp so is a good thing over the 150ish of the rev 2 engine. I dont think there is, only difference between the...

Whining noise - alternator?

Hi guys My mr2 has started making a whining noise. As first I thought it was gearbox but it still there in neutral or with the clutch in. It changes in pitch as revs increase. With my head under the bonnet it sounds like its coming from the alternator which on searching seems quite a common issue Is...

[Mk2] [NA] MR2 service - what should I change?

I’m planning on giving my MR2 a service and want to do everything as I’ve got no history for it after 100K (on 141K now) So far I was planning on doing the following and getting the bits from camskill. Oil and Filter Air Filter Fuel Filter Spark Plugs Usual checks (Tyres, Brakes, CV boots, Suspensio...

Re: Goodwood Green Rev 3 Tidy Up

Thanks, Not actually sure the wheels are going to make it onto the car now TBH My insurance renewal has come through and it turns out I can insure pretty much anything I want so I've been looking at getting something newer and more boring just trying to figure out whether I do actually want a new ca...

Couldnt you just fit them with the spacers? Might upset the handling a little mind

Wrong tyres on them, but cheap enough. I just sold my old ones which were very corroded for £77 with 3 bald tyres!

Re: Goodwood Green Rev 3 Tidy Up

Had the car mopped on saturday and waxed it. I'm really not down with the detailing to be honest but got a mate who loves it. He said he really enjoyed doing it and the car has come out really well, it really is a lovely colour. He also told me to stop washing it with a 99p sponge and fairy liquid :...

[Mk2] [NA] Active Speaker Replacement

Hi My MR2 has the active sound system. I was replacing the drivers carpet last night and noticed the speaker behind the seat is ripped which i believe is why the base on my radio sounds distorted Does anyone know what sort of speaker I can replace it with? I'm an ICE novice and not a music buff so a...

Re: Goodwood Green Rev 3 Tidy Up

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah it is to be expected and i'd say the problems i have had so far have been niggles more than anything else!

Must admit the last week or so the MR2 has been of a part time job than a car

Re: Goodwood Green Rev 3 Tidy Up

Another little update. Next problem was I’ve lost the two rear under-trays driving through a puddle Friday night and the car went down to 3 cylinders. It really doesn’t seem to like the wet much at all. I’ve lost the two rear trays but now have replacements. Unfortunately it looks like the middle on...

No its very easy.

Changing the electric window motor and lock barrels over is not so easy but still do-able.

Re: MK2 Rust Assessment

I would have thought you will have a job to find some rust free doors in the right colour (i couldnt find any) but they do look repairable. If i were you i'd get a pro on it now before it gets much worse, your car really doesnt look that bad though mine was much worse when i bought it, however it do...

Re: Goodwood Green Rev 3 Tidy Up

Turns out i hadnt tightened up the battery terminals after i'd taken them off at the weekend which is why it wouldnt start  Also sorted the electric window out which turned out to be the loom. i assume the mystery wires in the new loom were someone's attempt to fix it. Swapped the looms over a...
