Re: Strut Braces..

Well I have a Woodsport one. It's spent ten years on an SC ...cars been driven enthusiastically...been on the track as well. Now it's off the car. I can't bend it or break it! It's not showing any surface deterioration? Conclusion: not saying it would hold up the Severn Bridge but it seems fit for p...

Re: Strut Braces..

I've got them now. Here is a pic, very simple and very functional. I like them but they need to lose weight before they go on the rally car. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h104/paulkay2/90947692.jpg The bar will be replaced with tube or box section alloy or stainless. We might even get the plate...

Re: Free to a good home - A/C compressor

Cheers, Glenn. Really appreciate that. I've got a tin top so non-working aircon isn't great and my specialist thinks it requires a new condenser. Happy to give you money as well as shipping if your looks OK.

Very generous offer. However, I'm really after a condenser if you get to remove that.

Re: Toyota Museum

Yes, Rob looking forward to when you get another Mark 1. We had identical Mark2's. Saw my old one the other day and don't miss it at all - just not like the Mark 1 go kart is it? Interesting museum pics. Our family were thinking of a trip to Tokyo as a holiday but with yen exchange rate at present, ...

Went for £485. Anybody on here get it? If so, what does the future hold for this car?

Re: Mark 1 Super Editon on eBay!!

It's breaker's car. Apart from galactic mileage and seriously neglected body it's obviously falling apart with rust underneath - that's probably why no MOT. SE's don't command wildly inflated prices over normal SC's. That one on ebay a few months ago, with quite minor rust, didn't even get any bids ...

No you have to give her a second chance. They have to learn about MR2's ...it doesn't come naturally. Recent conversation in our house... Wife "Why do we have to get another MR2 ...when we've already got one"? Me "Lots of people have two. And this is a different model". :D Some m...

Re: Where to find a supercharger?

I was in same situation couple of weeks ago. I reckoned it was too expensive to import, what with cars costing £4K then say another £2K ship, pay tax and get on the road. Then when it arrives you've got to rectify things not right, if they exist. There's some paperwork and bit of delay involved in g...

Re: tired of standard garages - mr2 mk1 specialists in SE area?

Ian Royale near Chatham is a mechanic with 24 years Toyota main dealer experience and a specialist in Mark 1's. He offers very good prices. Haven't had work done by him but he knows almost everything about these cars and runs a modified Mark 1. His number is 07932 941008. If not there's Jinxy in Nor...

Re: Nice MK1 for sale- Not mine

It's interesting it has an original purchase invoice for £15,500. I had later (1990 G reg) T bar (with leather obviously) and had original purchase invoice, which read £12,900? I thought that was the list price in 1990. Surely list price was lower at F reg?

Re: wheres lauren gone ?

I was wondering what happened to Stromby. So pleased he still looks in on this site. Must be about 3 years since that Stromby/Lauren thing? Gave us all so many laughs at the time. Didn't it end with him saying he was going to lay down on the track?

Re: X19 vs Mk1

Yes, I've had several X19's and was one of the founder members of the Club back in 1984. The Club was started by Brian Jordan. Dave Harris, the Club's technical guy, went on to start the MR2 club with others ...and later owned one of the first SC's in the country. Though underpowered the X19's are s...

Re: Wheel mirror polishing like Wheeler Dealers MR2

Don't forget the post-mop treatment to retain the finish. Many people believe you need a sealant then a decent wax regularly. like a Carnauba wax. I had my badly faded/matt finish white MR2 mopped. I then used Autoglym Super Resin polish (which is also a sealant) then Collinite wax. Collinite is a w...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Sticking O/S front drivers caliper

I had a front sticking caliper I've just fixed. I freed it up OK by pushing in and out a few months ago but it eventually stuck again. I've rebuilt calipers before on other cars but it's hardly worth the time and money saving. Overhaul kit is £25 and you may need a replacement piston if the old unit...

Re: Newly awaited Club website now live

Yes Wayne, I really must get a Mark 1! I joined the Club again yesterday. I don't agree with view that it isn't worth £21. My view is that site took time and money to create ...and it's a very good result. Contributing and helping is what clubs are all about. I'll get £21 worth of value even if I do...
