500+BHP Project
As my major build is in progress, I thought i'd post it on here. I'm aiming for around 500+ Bhp. When i bought the car it was running a TD05 Turbo and a Mines ECU. I soon got hold of an Apexi PFC to replace the Mines, and got it tuned up to 1.4 bar at 357bhp. As the TD05 was nearing limits i bopught...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wot causes big end failure
Silly me. Just read the title and immediately thought it said 'Wide Open Throttle Causes big End Failure". I was intrigued. Anyway, just realised its supposed to say"What".

Re: Tyres for my 1st Track day
Ya could try the Hankook RS2's. They seem to get good track day reviews from what i've read. Bit cheaper than the 888's too.

D'oh. Working that day, but will see if i can get it off as last year was great- and the best tan i got all year.
If I ever get my car back from 3s, and it runs well, then i might even fancy a part. Should be ok on the 1/4 if all goes to plan.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rogeus ChargeCooler Kit
Ive got one for my 500bhp project, but as ive not got car back, cant say what its like. Sure i read somewhere theyre supposed to be good for 600-700 bhp. Or i could just be plucking this number from my imagination.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where do i get 800cc Injectors Rev3 Cheapest Poss??
Ya can have my old Sard 850 side feeds if ya like. Nover been above 70% duty cycle. Only had them on for 6 months before taking my car in for big rebuild. They need the resister pack shorting out(high impedence) which isnt a problem. I'm going up to 1000's and top feed for 500bhp. My old sards will ...

Re: Undertrays, are they needed?
Remember seeing some really nice aluminium undertrays for the MR2 somewhere. They were expensive, but looked lovely- bit like the underside of my mates VX220 Turbo.
Found them. http://emspowered.com/storefront/index. ... cts_id=175

I'd recommend the GT30 series all day long. Ive got the GT3076r. Cracking turbo. Good spool and great power.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Tubular Manifold for 500 BHP. Non-Cracking??
What do ya reckon to this one i've found. it is ebay, but its in the US. Looks very much like full race, but how thick is full race tubing? That could be the major difference. Says it won't crack in the ad, but only has a 1 year warranty. See what ya think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOTA-3SGT...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Tubular Manifold for 500 BHP. Non-Cracking??
As my engine is currently being build as i type, i'm worrying that the stock rev 3 manifold wont be good enough for the 500BHP i'm after. I would love a nice stainless tubular one, but i've heard that most of them crack at some point. Are there any good ones about that don't crack? Or if not, does a...

But if ya not worried about you cylinder walls, then yes the .63a/r will do ya for 500bhp and spool quickly.
