Re: Going to buy this car this Saturday what should I look out for??

(Found out when i checked online) The MOT pass cert had advisory issued NO, but the advisories are where still present when I...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Coolant change advice
Rather then start a new topic I thought i'll bump this one as its still related to what I'am about to ask. After reading the guides I don't feel I have the confidence to do the coolant change myself (Be first time trying a coolant change) tho I topped the system up and it survived the winter fine. :...

Re: 16" Wheels follow dips in the road. UPDATE: NOW WITH GEO SETTINGS.
I also get the same problems described in the OP, my car came with 17" low profile aftermarket alloys and sometimes i can't relax when driving because some dips in the road kinda jolts the steering and the feels like its going to change direction for a second. I'm having the alignment done as t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] igniter question
Hi there, i know the original post is old but i recently just changed the coil and ignitor on my mr2. My 92 J reg revision 1 car uses the 5pin plug shown in the picture for the ignitor. The ignitor has two toyota stickers on it which i assume are the part numbers, the first is labeled Coil. W/ignito...

Re: Wind/rain causing car issues
Hi all, sorry about the lack of updates but been busy/weather's been bad/cold and awaiting parts. Mail's getting slow here already... I managed to source a second hand coil/ ignitor and bracket off this fourm but the coil casing had hairline cracks in them where it screws onto the bracket, must be a...

[Mk2] [NA] Radio Code
Hi, I did some work on my car today changing over a coilpack and disconnected the battery now the radio is showing SECURITY which i'm guessing its blocked. Anyone know a way of resetting the radio? It has the number 13702 written just above the LCD display. Edit: fixed the engine temp gauge by makin...

Re: Plastic Undertrays
i wouldnt of thought so, do you have a rain tray on your engine cover? Yep I got the tray that funnels water attatched to the underside of the engine lid. You actually get more crap in the engine bay if you're missing the one belt-end of the engine as rubbish can get up onto the alternator / aircon...

Re: Plastic Undertrays
only 2 little ones either side but nothing under the engine itself Oh are these easy to spot? If missing would these cause excess water to get into the engine bay area? The undertrays underside finish kind of just after the rear of the firewall / front of the sump. They have sort of scooped shapes ...

Plastic Undertrays
Hi all, do the plastic undertrays cover the whole length of the car or stop just at the engine bay?

Is there a plastic undertray for the actual engine itself?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Coolant change advice
I would love to give it a go but I'm basically a newbie when it comes to stuff like this and given the nature of the mr2 I don't think its the best car to try it on for a first timer. I also don't have the service hoses that are supposed to be with the car when one does a coolant change. Kinda my ow...

[Mk2] [NA] Coolant change advice
Hi all, after checking my coolant level the expansion tank is near completely empty and upon inspection of the coolant under the filler cap its all brown and murky looking. Now I lightly grip the coolant pipe going to the engine and the coolant thats there isn't dirty or red/green its kinda clear li...

Re: Wind/rain causing car issues
Just an update, I managed to check today now the weather's clear and the coil pack area and its all gunked with oil/water so I've cleaned all that off. The main lead the runs from the dizzy cap to the coilpack was kinda lose and wet and from the view doesn't look good. (First picture) The main coilp...

Re: Wind/rain causing car issues
The coilpack is the circled area right? The policeman did say if i get any issues make sure the main wire the sticks out the side is properly seated.

Thanks all will check this over tomorrow

Hi all, bought a rev 1 mr2 about 4 weeks ago and been fine till today :( When taking my sister to an appointment i was overaking a lorry overtaking another on the motorway, there was water spray due to rain and it was windy. Shorty after overtaking the lorry the car starts to judder and then slowly ...
