I'm interested to know which of those video's contained a driver that you think needs the crap kicking out of them?

Re: Driving with front wings removed?

Here's one for you, is it legal to drive with any of your body panels missing? I need to do some work on my front wings which could mean that they are off the car for a good few days and just wondered if it's still legal to dive from a pedestrian impact point of view? Any thoughts? :-k It's unlawfu...

I haven't been worked anywhere nearly hard enough to get in a twist, I'm simply pointing out the irrelevance of some of the points raised.

Re: Fell off the road *now with video*

I'd still love Lauren to tell me what parts I can take off my Celica's suspension and fit to the Mrs' Mk2 without the use of the angle grinder or machining. That's a bit of a red herring, fitting a new sleeve/top hat/bottom arm to a strut doesn't suddenly make it custom-built for an out-and-...

Re: Fell off the road *now with video*

Not wishing to quote Lauren, but all she's saying is that it was never a specifically designed sports car, not that it's necessarily a bad car. Then what was it specifically designed as? :? The idea was obviously to build a 2 seater sports car, but the economic restraints (that's my guess) me...

Re: Fell off the road *now with video*

Yes the suspension of the MR2 is compromised due to it's use and double wishbone may have been better but it is an 'affordable sports car' and at least it's not an adaption of a current chassis like the ford Puma. Not wishing to quote Lauren, but all she's saying is that it was never a specifically...

Re: anybody want a really quick rev3?

i have a black tin top gt rev3 (import) i dont know what has been done to it , but what i do know is it is way quicker than your average mr2. obvious mods are very few, sard induction and lowering springs and app brake lines. apart from that looks bog standard. I like the look of it, is there any c...

Re: Recommend an MR2 MK1 Restorer/bodyshop in North West

Two days later I received a letter saying that he wasn't going to quote because he didn't really have the enthusiasm to do the work and that he was really busy at the moment. There's a very good paintshop near me, very good indeed, but they're entire focus now is on accident repair rather than crea...

Re: Ariel Atom 300

I'm not talking top speeds, i'm talking lap times. Ask a scientist if you want the proof. 4 wheels = better cornering. The atom raped the bike on the tight top gear track, 4 seconds on just one lap! Firstly, there aren't many people driving Atom's. Secondly, I posted to a comment whereby someone sa...

Re: Fell off the road *now with video*

By that rational the Elise isn't a 'purpose built sports car' as it shares an engine with a Rover (or Celica). :oldtongue: Not really, Elise has own purpose built suspension, double wishbones and all that. It doesn't borrow MacPherson struts from another car. :+: I guess we could all get peda...

Re: Ariel Atom 300

If the best car and the best bike in the world were to be created, the law of physics would make the car the faster of the 2. You have to define faster... Straight line, through corners, on a tank of petrol, top speed, so many different factors. Never forget that bikes were regularly breaking the 2...

It's not about showing proof after you make a claim, it's about showing proof before you make the claim.

If that's not the case, then show me the proof. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C3%BCrburgring_lap_times#Motorcycles You've waffled about the Nordschleiffe, only the very fastest 4 wheels on the planet have bea...

What you said was "Even the most basic MR2 will be quicker than bike through the corners".

That statement isn't even close to being true: the above is simply your opinion, which in this case is wrong.

Re: Ariel Atom 300

Normal race tracks and even the 'Ring support the opposite side of that argument. Look at the 600cc Superstock times around Donington, light years ahead of anything but the fastest 4 wheels. Or Combe. Or Snetterton. Or Mallory. Or Brands. Your argument doesn't stack up, you're having to introduce h...
