Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Rev2+ caster adjustment

I've no idea about this so just asking - would reducing the castor increase steering responsiveness? I drove a friend's MX-5 once and was surprised at how quickly the car started to steer the moment you turned the steering wheel. Was really fun. My MR2 seems to have a bit of a delay before it starts...

No, but neither is it a bottom end or valve train component. From his original post:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Maximum Rev Limit

After all, it is high-mileage & bone stock (apart from a metal head gasket) with a T78 strapped to the side of it. Holy wotsits, a T78?!! Sorry to wander off topic but when does that start spooling, and when do you get decent boost? Those are laggy and have a high boost threshold on an RB26 let...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Maximum Rev Limit

My understanding is that max power is around 6250 rpm on a stock engine so there no point in going higher. I disagree with that. You accelerate better if you rev past the max power rpm as long as the power curve isn't dropping like a stone. That way your revs are high enough when you change into th...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] What is this front spoiler / splitter?

Thanks.

I've found a few pics (now that I know what to Google for). I've decided that one of the things that makes the car in the original pic look so good is the paint scheme. The bumper doesn't look as good when it's all one colour. Still nice though.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ceramic coating intake pipes

The inlet charge would need to drop below 30c for it to hurt atomisation and coating your pipes is hardly going to do that! Yes I agree coating the pipes is hardly going to get it that low by itself, but if he has some mega inlet cooling already, in cold weather the heating effect from an uncoated ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What to do next??

Intercooler or chargecooler whats best & the approx cost of both? James from the 3S Service Centre (now JD Modified) put one of his own build charge coolers on my car. It's awesome. That and the downpipe transformed my rev3. Still got stock turbo - boost at 1.15 bar at 3000rpm and sitll holding...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ceramic coating intake pipes

Not sure on the intake side but I guess if you can reduce the amount you heat the charge then it's going to help up to a point, although if you make the charge too cold I've heard the fuel doesn't atomise so well so it's counter productive. I've got no direct experience of that so it would be intere...

[Mk2] [Generic] What is this front spoiler / splitter?

Any idea what is the front spoiler/splitter on the MR2 here? (not the crazy thing on the top of the bonnet)?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] some progress pics, GT3071R MR2

I didnt write that, that was Ashmans quote. Hmm yes you're right, not sure how I got that mixed up. You mean Rob or RDS with the WI sensor pre throttle? No idea. John injects before the intercooler (pre compressor) and has had no ill effects, might be best to ask him. I'll see what he says if I get...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] some progress pics, GT3071R MR2

BTW, those of you who have WI as well as an intercooler/chargecooler, and inject at some point before the intercooler/chargecooler (whether that be pre or post compressor) ... do you have any issues with water condensing out in the core? Not that I've ever read about that being a problem but I wonde...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] some progress pics, GT3071R MR2

Might be a crazy idea, but could you take it pre TB instead and that way avoid showing the water injection controller a vacuum when you lift off on the throttle...it would keep injecting between gear changes then? A friend of mine had that setup on a Calibra Turbo. His was a fairly simple setup wit...

[All] [Generic] potential EU law against modified cars?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this but it struck me as relevant to all who look in this topic (and most places in this forum). Also, apologies if this is a re-post but I used the search facility and didn't find any other posts about it. This worries me: http://www.the-ace.org.uk/armag...

That half shaft must run pretty close to the clutch. Is it pretty tight in there?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] The V12 Mk2 thread

 On my V8 tank i dropped a lit rag into it on a 20ft pole as a final check all of the vapours had gone :D Years ago I had an old motorbike tank seam welded where it had started to split by where the rear bracket was spot welded on. It had been sitting for a year with no petrol in and the fille...

Now why didn't I think of that :?

It never occurred to me that you could press the selected button again to switch it off without switching the other one on.

Doing that seemed to do the trick - brilliant :)
