I think the price is fair too - car looks sweet :D - I'd buy it if I wasn't trying to sell a Mk1... Hope you get some interest soon, tho ads do seem a bit slow at the moment. I wanna have a drive tho! I'll probably get lynched for this comment, but being a Mk1 fan, when I've driven a Mk2 it always *...
THIS CAR HAS NOW BEEN SOLD - THANKS FOR THE INTEREST SHOWN :D Hi :D , I am selling a T-Bar (open-top) MR2 in white, with black leather seats, central locking and electric windows and mirrors. 117,800 miles, MOT until April 2012, tax until Sep 2011, with some record of past MOTs and history. The car ...
Also, nice one Bod! :D The first time I did the alternator I followed Haynes' advice and took off the exhaust. The next time I realised it would come out the top with the bottle removed - I guess maybe Haynes doesn't say this as it 's based on the Mk1a and is there a difference? Means it's a much ea...
Hi Liam, I find it easiest to loosen the bottom bolt but leave it in (the long straight-through one, best accessed with the car on ramps, but can be got to if you squeeze under with or without jacking the car up a couple of inches), and remove the upper bolt (the small bolt which is easily accessed ...
relay received (thanks MartG ) and fitted in about an hour. Jimi's photos are pretty accurate and very helpful. It's on a long wire too, so have re-routed it to a lower position above the footwell incase I need to change it in the future.
Cheers all. Dave
Hi, this is actually a request for someone to spot (or admit to owning... :D ) my old Mk1. I sold G... MNT in Summer 2007 after it had failed an MOT due to extensive welding and handbrake (surprise surprise...) to a guy who was going to restore it. The sale was on the friendly condition that he got ...
On the price front, I've paid £250 so far for some extensive work to the rear of both sills including new metal up to the top of the body kit, new seams at the jacking points, and a plate on the underside at the front of one side... Remember you have 2 options: (1) get it through the MOT - only need...
HI Southy, I'm not from your area so can't suggest anywhere, but I have had work on arches and sills recently. I used a mobile welder, who was cheaper (due to not having a workshop, etc) and recommended by a mate. He was happy to fabricate the panels needed from sheet metal, but if you were going do...
MartG, Jimbo_jet, Jimi, cartledge_uk, Tiamat, thanks for the advice (and discussion :D ) - nothing's ever simple on the Mk1 is it?! Hopefully I've got one coming in the post (cheers Martin :thumleft: ) so hopefully that should sort it. When it works, the clicking can be heard directly behind the ins...
Jimi,
Thanks for clarifying that. That's the one described in the Haynes manual I guess, that says changing it is a simple job! So to confirm, I need to get behind the dash to change the flasher unit?
Thanks again
Dave
Hi all, Know I'm dragging this out a little  but Toyota wanting £50 for a flasher unit (81980-16010) and £20 for a indicator relay (90987-03001). I didn't know there were two different things! Any idea what the difference is and which might intermittently be causing the indicators to stay o...
PS anyone got a part number for the indicator relay? it's good when Toyota parts department tell me to go on the forums to check the part they are quoting...!!!
Thanks! Dave
I've done a quick fix by cutting some plastic sheet to size to cover the hole. The front boot seal does a good job of holding the sheet in place along the front edge, and it tucks up behind the screen with a bit of gaffer tape. This seems to have stopped the worst of it until I can find time to do i...
Thanks guys. They have started working again, which I can only put down to the fact that the car had been standing for months and had got rather damp inside, but has now been started and everything warmed up and dried out, so maybe that's done the relay some good... Jimbo, thanks for the link, will ...
