Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] high idle

yes it is as you've just defied the laws of physics and somehow acheived a negative pressure. i would suggest contacting NASA to tell them to look at your car :) vaccuum is measure in inches mercury :P and in answer to the question you meant to ask, it only matters to you if its showinf different to...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] high idle

dodgy ISCV? dodgy throttle body?

can you plug the CU in and see all the sensor values live? you can easily spot a management fault this way.

if youre not confident diagnosing EFI its probably easier and cheaper just to take it somewhere that can

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Infiniti Q45 Throttle Body with standard TPS

JJ i would actually contradict what youre saying and say it will be the oposite way round. the % difference in air volume at low throttle openeings will be greater on light throttle than WOT, as on high throttle youre being limited by the engine's VE ie ability to consume the air, but on low throttl...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Safe mode? But no error code?

the HKS EVC3 has a boost limiting function where it will lower the boost should it detect an overboot scenario. this is defined in the final screen after you hit mode a few times. are you sure its the ECU limiting the boost and not the boost controller ;) ps when the EVC 3 does this it also beeps at...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] what happens at 2250 revs?

youd be surprised just how driveable cars with faulty fueling actually is mate! ive seen cossies with TPS's wired thewrong way round (ie 0% throttle regists as 100% and visa versa!) and the cars still appear to drive ok. fix the fault and all of the sudden the cars come to life and people realise ho...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] won't start...overfueling???

what engine management are you using? BOVs and mass air flow based engine management systems (ie those on rev1+2 mr2s) do not go well together

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stutter / hesitation under full boost...

dodgy iridium plugs seemed to be quite common when they were newish. i havent heard of issues in well over a year so guess they were resolved. most common cause of failure is people trying to gap them! you dont gap them they come pre gapped and you leave them well alone, try to gap them and youll da...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] over fueling

sorry i dont understand, im no MR2 specialist but looking at a pic of those standard pistons i cant see how you could have fitted flat pistons that were suitable? still, what was the reason you got the engine rebuilt in the first place? did you rectify the cause of the initial failure or did you jus...

as far as i know those are piggy back ignition systems designed carbed bikes and pretty much pointless fitting to an MR2

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Changed clutch, now grinds into gear

its definately the clutch actuation, ie everytihng between your foot and the fork that pushes the clutch in on the gearbox. you either have a badly adjusted pedal, a fault in the hydraulic system , or you havent bled it properly.

theyre a right pain to bleed RIGHT

you guys sure on those figures? you can get 400+bhp from 500cc injectors on other 2.0 turbo engines, is the MR2 lump really THAt inefficient?

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Need a quick answer about the lambda sensor..

depends on the ECU control.

take a bosch L8 on a cosworth for example most mapers dont have a clue and struggle to get 500cc peak and hold injectors to idle and give MOTable emission figures! lol

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lost 2nd, 4th and reverse last night...

sounds like an issue with the selector rather than the gearbox itself, something's broken or come loose
