Re: mr2 for sale
Post in the wanted section already done...got one reply and should be getting some more details this weekend. I quite like white but my last mr2 (which was a n/a) was white and fancy something different this time. I'm looking on autotrader, pistonheads, here and ebay on a regular basis and nothings ...

Re: mr2 for sale
that does seem an awful lot of money, plus in my opinion they don't look very good in silver, far too common a car colour and the MR2 comes in lot's of much better colours... I was thinking along the same lines (except the colour which I quite like). Did seem a little pricey but there seems to be a...

Re: Any decent importers
Why import when you can buy good and much cheaper examples in the UK? This^ I've had an MR2 imported previously, and would never do it again. Can I ask why? I ve had a chat with torque gt who seem to have a good reputation on other forums. They ve given me a price guide of around 4k for a 95 rev3 i...

Re: Any decent importers
I m not necessarily looking to import if its not a cost effective option. Again I think things have moved on somewhat from when I last went down this route due to the exchange rate. However I think the good ones being sold privately that match what I m after aren't that plentiful so I thought it mig...

Re: Any decent importers
yeah he's the chap thats cropped up on a number of jap car forums.
Bit of a trek from Portsmouth though.
Is there anyone a bit closer? If he's the best guy to go to then no major problems.
.I'd rather travel a bit to get the right car.

Any decent importers
Hi, Used to own a n/a mr2 years ago and always wanted a turbo but couldnt due to a longish commute to work. Finally the commute is no more so I'm looking at a mr2 turbo again as a weekend car. I've been out of the mr2 scene for a good number of years now, save the occasional browse on here at the fo...

Re: rev 2 turbo advice
cheers guys if I do go for a rev 2 any ideas how much all of that is likely to cost?

Also can anyone advise if there is any way of knowing whether a tubby has been run at high boost or is it just a case of taking the owners word for it?

rev 2 turbo advice
Hi, I'm looking at purchasing a mr2 turbo and been looking on here now for the last few months so I'm reasonably clued up with what I want. Just got a couple more questions that I was hoping someone could help with. Initially I was after a rev 3 turbo...this was after having driven a standard rev 2 ...

Re: mr2 turbos a nightmare to work on?
that'll do for me then.
.
.now to sell the fto.

Like I said I've been on this forum for ages and owned/driven a fair few mr2s so I'm fairly familiar with them, but not owned a tubby.
Does anyone know if
3s still offer their car inspection service?

mr2 turbos a nightmare to work on?
Hi, I've been a member on this forum for years as I used to own an n/a mr2, and having owned a FTO for the last four years the time has come to move on. Whilst at the garage getting my FTO serviced I spoke to the chap about what to get next, with the main priority being something reliable and a bit ...

cheers for all the advice...pretty sure I'll be keeping the FTO though as I;ve spent a fair wad of cash on it now and got it just how I want it :D the amount of petrol it gets through isnt great though so was hoping to save a bit using the mk1 50% of the time... mk1 as a second car?
Hi, Just after a bit of advice from the mk1 experts on the forum...I currently drive a FTO but after a cheapish fun second car to use every now and again, possibly 2000-3000 miles a year. I've always fancied a mk1, and in recent weeks have been browsing pistonheads/ebay to see what was on there and ...

just in case anyone was interested, just got my fto back from having the mapecu.
Exactly the same setup, same induction kit before and after; results were 172hp to 188.6hp

Again not sure what they could do with a n/a mr2.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Can i get my N/A Re-mapped for more power and better fuel economy??
Believe it when I see it on a rev3+ MR2 (that is believe it after seeing it run at a club dyno day not where the chip was installed with other people with standard cars as a guide). Anyone ever seen a stock block 190bhp n/a other than a beams? Well I'm not sure what they could get out of a n/a mr2 ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Can i get my N/A Re-mapped for more power and better fuel economy??
mate, you might want to look into a mapecu...not sure how many people there are in the uk that fit them and map but know that Eurospec nr Guildford are an approved supplier and fitter (google them and you'll find it). Theres a bit of info on their website about them..I think on average you can expec...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Maybe Selling for Winter
as already said, the tubby does feel quicker due to alot more low down torque which kicks you into the back of your seat...the fto is more of a smooth power delivery. So in terms of power then it is behind the tubby but feels quicker than the na. if you do decide to get one, dont discount the GR eit...
