mr2 for sale

Post by benson »

Hi,

Has anyone got any knowledge/gone to view this car at all, or had any dealings with kent cars?

http://www.kent-cars.co.uk/used-cars/to ... 1421250278

I'm guessing that it was imported by them...looks quite nice from the photos.

Cheers

Sorry I cant seem to get the link to work??

Is it just me, or are MR2's really over-priced? I sold my 54 plate M-Sport 3 series coupe for less than this car.

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Hmmm. a rev4 turbo, anniversary edition...a pretty rare car, and looks to be in excellent condition :-k

On the face of it- very expensive for a standard turbo, but depends- if you are a collector and want a relatively rare example then you'd be prepared to pay a premium.

If, however, you are just after a nice MR2 turbo, you will find one a lot cheaper than that!!

Depends what you are looking for tbh :thumleft:

Sorry not sure what you mean? It looks as though its been imported by them

Expensive I guess. I'm just after a nice rev 3+ turbo thats in decent condition and will hold its value. Just going by the for sale ads that I've seen theres one rev 4 for 5.5k, another from newera thats 9k and a rev5 on here (albeit with a lot of work done) thats 8k

Looks like the front bumper has had a re spray as its a different colour to the rest of the car, I'd pull that up first

It's about £2000 too expensive in today's climate imo

that does seem an awful lot of money, plus in my opinion they don't look very good in silver, far too common a car colour and the MR2 comes in lot's of much better colours...

I was thinking along the same lines (except the colour which I quite like). Did seem a little pricey but there seems to be a lack of decent mr2 turbos on the market at the moment and just thought I'd get some opinions on here. I put a refundable deposit down with an import company six weeks ago but again theres nothing out there at all that fits my criteria (most of the cars are either white or crash repaired). Anyone got a nice looked after tubby they're looking to sell?

Why dont you have a gander at ebay and pistonheads

Tubbys are going for silly cheap money on the bay atm - you might get yourself a decent bargain if someone doesnt know fully what they are selling :thumleft:

Or ... Put a wanted ad up on this site??

Good spot- strange that they are trying to claim it is an anniversary edition. WAY over priced for a standard rev4 turbo

It might just be the standard plastic paint fade, quite common on these cars- the paint on the plastic bumpers fades at a different rate to the metal panels on the cars- so potentially not an issue.

Gotta agree with the comments above, there are other examples for sale at the moment that give you a lot more car for you money. At that price you could even find decent turbo at a more realistic price and have cash in the bank for a full respray :thumleft:

6 bags of sand for that car is way too much mate...as I'm sure you get by now after all the responses...maybe it came from the Mr2 Drivers Club...

I'm sure that was a feature of the JDM cars in silver, where the bumper was a different shade to the rest of the car. Seen a few like that. :-k

I'm going to go out on a limb here. I don't think it's overpriced.

It's an original, mint looking, rare, low mileage rev 4 turbo.

You pay for quality.

99 out of a hundred MR2s have had the front bumper / nosecone painted at some point or other, so unless there is evidence of of significant crash damage and poor repair work, I wouldn't worry about this too much.
