Yes, I recommend that you always keep a spare in the car together with the tools to do the job so that if it fails on the road you are not stuck. Fensport aren't interested in sorting this out so it's pointless trying to get them to supply something suitable for the job. The idler is actually a Ford part. One of the members on here (can't remember who it was) had his fail after only 100 miles, so don't assume that just because it's new it won't fail.

The Ford Part number is: F6635942. The current cost is £19 something including VAT from your local Ford dealer :+:

Yes Paul, I totally agree. I really must get hold of a Camry V6 idler. Thanks for the reminder :thumleft:

One could also use the AW11 Cambelt idler reversed. Available from Camskill for more than 1/2 what MrT charge

Correct but it needs some fettling, so it's not a straight fit.

agreed,i couldnt seem to find an easy way to make the mk1 pulley work, the v6 pulley just bolts on with a washer behind it.

I've just bought one of the Ebay ones linked above...! :D

As mentioned, surely someone at Fensprout could work out that they could simply buy some V6 idlers and sell them as part of their kit..????

the clearance is fine, just remember to pack it out a few mil with washers so the pulley clears its mounting bracket.

Tim its only slightly larger diam than the ford part,i can grab the actual size for you if you want?
