[Mk2] [NA] help :(

unfortunately my 'reliable' 3sge engine popped its clogs last week (sad times) and im now looking for a replacement!
its a 92 import and had the 158bhp engine
but i wanted to know if i could fit the 172bhp, from the later mr2, engine str8 into mine
is it possible
btw im new to the site so hello all and would appreciate any replys

Drop the block Straight in... with existing ECU and loom... No,
Different engine

However, you could swap in any engine, NA or Turbo if you have the whole rear loom, fuse box and loom to the passenger footwell.

A few pins in the footwell connector need to be swapped...
A task best left to those in the know, EG ROGUE.

If you were to stick with an NA, you never know... they may come across an engine from a customers turbo swap..

There are a variety of different engines you could use to replace your broken one.
Are you planning on doing the engine swap yourself? If you are then you could put a wanted ad in the wanted section for the engine.
There are a few MR2 specialist garages who would be able to swap the engine for you, Rogue Motorsport as mentioned above, 3S Service centre, Woodsport.... Have a look in the affiliates section.

i already have an experienced mechanic who is going to fit the engine

cant wait to get it up and running and go on some cruises with all of you

i live in sw devon so wheres the nearest meets gunna b?

Hmm I saw a Rev2 Turbo engine on Ebay today ... it was chopped in half ... the entire engine etc! Bout £450 I think and approx 60k miles
