[Mk2] [Generic] eBay rear panel

Post by Si_Crewe »

Just wondering what people thought about this.

The centre panel on my Rev2 looked a bit worn and it was starting to get clogged up with crud.
I was planning on getting hold of a set of Rev3 lights and a centre panel but, when I saw this on ebay (for about a tenner IIRC) I thought I'd give it a go.

It took about 10 minutes to fit, including drilling a few small holes in the top to secure it properly. The instructions say to just slot it in but that seemed a bit iffy to me.
I finished it off with MR2 lettering bought from Halfords.

As modifications go I know this hardly rocks your world but I reckon it makes a nice difference from the stock rear panel if you can't afford, or find, rev 3 rear lights so I thought I'd share it.

One last question...

You guys reckon that looks okay as it is?
I was thinking of tinting the lights darker as well but I'm not too sure.

Just had a nosey on ebay.co.uk

I bought the panel last summer and, as I said, I'm sure it was summat like £12 plus P&P.

If you type in "MR2 rear panel" on ebay you'll see squillions of em. The auction I bought from had the pic of the gold MR2 with the panel lying on the back.
However, these ones are 40 quid now (:O) so maybe they're not the same ones.
There ARE other ones, apparently the same, all over ebay for £15 (BIN) upwards though.

TBH, the reason I mentioned it was just cos I was quite surprised to never have seen this on any other 2, especially since it is so easy to do and looks pretty cool.

What's under the hood of yours now then?

I take it there's something a bit special?
Does it still have a boot?
