Post by C50 »

Does anyone here know what dump valve i've got? Is it a particular brand? Its given off a turbo chatter and i would like to stop it as i want my turbo to have a long prosperous life :?

Also my strut brace, is it el cheapo?

I like to know what's currently on my car.

Not sure what type maybe some else can tell you.
But it does look like the spring tension can be adjusted so just loosen it off a tad to get rid of the chatter worked on my blitz

Tried that but the nut just comes off instead. Cant really afford to buy another dump valve.

strut brace looks like one of the cusco range, they had two i believe.

when do you get this chatter is on light throttle or full boost let off?

Loosen the nut and unwind the stud with an Allen key quarter a turn at a time (anticlockwise!).

It should relieve the spring, therefore the pressure it will blow off at.

Yup exactly what KM said, the nut is there to keep if from turning once set. loosen screw type thingy with an allen key only a little at a time and then try until you get the right tension and then nut it up to make sure it doesn't move.

I thought it might be a cusco coz of the coloured ends.. just i saw a chunkier cusco one.

I get the chatter on both.

Undid the screw fully and still get it

I dont know the tubby as most on here so hopefully someone else can give a better reply.... but you definately should NOT be getting chatter when coming off full boost. one thing it can be is the bov is seized, you can take it off and see if with a abit of pressure the piston should go back and forth. if it doesn't then its seized.

Can anyone else add to this???

I've taken it all apart gnzyza. I think it's a push type dump valve. Cleaned everything, nothing is siezed :-k

I've tried minimum tension but car was a bit 'stuttery' and still had chatter so had to increase tension a bit.

Hmm.. i'm puzzled but cant really afford a new one :(
