I too am leaving the Committee

Post by Tiamat »

I will shortly be retiring from the Committee and it is proposed that I will return to being a mere moderator.

I have too many outside commitments to give the forum and the club the attention it deserves to progress further and I am basically taking up a space that could be filled by someone with a bit more available time.

Recent events have also sapped the fun from IMOC and I want to walk away for a while a rediscover the joy of owning an MR2.

Thanks for listening

Malcolm

Sad to see another committee member leaving. Hope we'll still have some left to keep the club going :pale:

Just to echo the comments above and as I've already said, sorry to see Malcolm leave the commitee. He will be staying on in a moderating capacity, so won't be leaving totally. The recent events have just made people re-evaluate where they want to spend their energies, and they have decided that they need to concentrate on other things at the moment instead, which is fair enough.

We will be re-jigging the committee from the current batch of moderators, and then we'll be looking for fresh moderators at some point in the future.

As long as there is somebody left peddling franticly behind the scenes, the club will keep going :thumleft:

Just to support what Speedy said, I wouldn't leave the Committee unless I was sure the club would be okay. Which it will be.

IMOC will keep going and getting stronger!

IMOC uber alles!

I just have toomuch stuff outside of IMOC really that needs my attention, which coupled with recent events and the illness of 2 family members means that something has to give.

another one bites the dust.sorry to see you stepping down.i may be speaking out of turn, but it won't be the first or last time so i will have my 2 pennies worth. i think the time as come when all of us should take a look at ourselves and ask why genuine people who have the best interests of this great club, are bailing ship at an alarming rate.the amount of abuse and flack flying about over the last few months must have been dreadful for those in the driving seat, and i for one am indebted to them for the dedication they show in keeping this club going, when it must be very tempting to just walk away.the way things are going we are going to have an influx of new commitee members who through no fault of their own do not have the experience to keep the club up to the standards we are used to.so back to my main point.if we can help to make their lifes easier, then we should.if we are going to make life difficult, then lets all think twice before jumping in with both feet.sorry for such a long rant, but i feel it's needed.paul.

My main reasons are lack of time. I took on 2 new clients yesterday, one today and have a guaranteed 20 more at end of the month regardless of what I take on inthe meantime. I just don't have the time for IMOC.

I've also had 2 family members in hospital in the last month and they are both still recovering so things not easy on that front. I am 100% behind the club and the Committee but as they are currently looking at recruiting from the Moderators for replacements it made it a sensible time for me to step down and allow someone to take over.

I woudl say that the Committee members are not bailing, most of the Committee people who have left / leaving (bar myself) have been in the role for over 2 years now. The new blood may be of use and energise the club and rest assured us oldies will not be going anywhere. :thumleft:
