reg no. and spotted.

What about reg numbers in your 'garage' so when you are spotted and someone manages to get some or all of you plate, you get a PM that notifies you as maybe spotted??

Nice idea - I will put it to the techy geeks in the basement and see what they say. Its almost feeding time for them anyway!

With car cloning on the rise, probably not a good idea

Which they can do with ANY plate anyway. Also its easy enough to get them off the photos, MartG you have yours showing in avatar pic - could be got hold of. To be honest people are going to put up the plate numbers in a half format so that people can tell if its them or not. The notification would use the IMOC records - voluntary - and notify potential people in the club anyway.

People already put up the plate numbers.

I don't think storing registration numbers is something we would want to do - along with address / full postcode / VIN unfortunately there is the potential for some or all of this information to be misused nowadays :(

Oki Doke, I admit i forgot about identity theft, how about forcing a selection process to the title, like in posts we have to select mk and turbo NA, could this be done with colour first, mk, rev, then turbo NA etc, the user could find their vehicle quicker?? jus a thought cos I only check every year or so and then trawl back to see if someone saw me in 1995!

In an ideal world, it would be a great feature - however ....

Heh - as for finding your car, best bet would be to check the posts to 'spotted' more often ;) I'm afraid.

There are also (as per the WRA) a lot of Black / Red / White MR2s, so I'm not sure adding additional fields would actually improve the chances of someone posting up saying they'd spotted your car..

I don't have a problem with my reg being put up, its easy enough to get hold of anyway, pics of it on web and on the site here and also could be seen going down the road.

Do have a massive objection to my postcode going up, again its a small village I live in and it wouldn't be too hard to track down my cars.
